This week, Congressman David G. Valadao was appointed to House Committee on Appropriations - Republicans, the committee responsible for funding the federal government and determining where American tax dollars are spent.
“Serving on the Appropriations Committee is an incredible honor, and I do not take lightly the responsibility met with determining how American tax dollars are spent,” said Congressman Valadao. “I look forward to getting back to work for the Central Valley to ensure the priorities and needs of my constituents are represented in Washington.”

President Trump was, without question, a driving force in the catastrophic events that took place on January 6 by encouraging masses of rioters to incite violence on elected officials, staff members, and our representative democracy as a whole.
Speaker Pelosi has thrown precedent and process out the window by turning what should be a thorough investigation into a rushed political stunt. I wish, more than anything, that we had more time to hold hearings to ensure due process.
Unfortunately, Speaker Pelosi did not afford us that option.
Based on the facts before me, I have to go with my gut and vote my conscience. I voted to impeach President Trump. His inciting rhetoric was un-American, abhorrent, and absolutely an impeachable offense. It’s time to put country over politics.
It is an honor to serve the constituents of California’s 21st Congressional District. The Central Valley has always been my home, and the needs of the people who live there are my number one priority. I am returning to Washington with clear objectives: get people back to work, fix our broken immigration system, deliver more water to the Central Valley, and cut red tape to make it easier for farmers to feed America.

If you recognize any of the terrorists in these pictures, please contact the FBI immediately. Their actions were unfathomable, and not alerting authorities when you know who these criminals are, is shameful. Justice must be served.
The FBI is seeking to identify individuals involved in the violent activities that occurred at the U.S. Capitol and surrounding areas on January 6, 2021. View posters and related information here. If you have any information to provide, visit fbi.gov/USCapitol or call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
I am incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick. Officer Sicknick died protecting the United States Capitol, the people inside, and everything it represents. Terra and I are praying for his loved ones.
The behavior of these "protesters" on the Capitol Complex is absolutely abhorrent. This is un-American. I denounce this behavior to the fullest extent. We are so much better than this.
The role of Congress as defined by the Constitution is to count the votes certified by the states. It is not the role of Congress to choose who the states certify. Only states have the authority to appoint electors.
Choosing to ignore the facts for the sake of party power is damaging to the American people’s confidence in the Electoral College and sets an unwise precedent for future elections.
Simply put, Congress does not have the power to pick the president — the American people do, through the Electoral College. #CA21
Remembering President George H. W. Bush.
President George H. W. Bush served our nation in many roles, always putting Americans first. He embodied what it meant to be a public servant, 41 touched our lives and his presence will be missed by all.

Stopped by Central California Food Bank for a tour from CEO Andy Souza. The addition of their new location combined with recent renovations will give them the space they need to better serve our community.
After working with the Army Corps of Engineers to cut through bureaucracy and red tape, I was excited to participate in the ground breaking ceremony for State Route 269 Arroyo Pasajero Creek Bridge. Huron and other surrounding communities will greatly benefit from this investment.
Disappointed to miss Hanford FFA who stopped by my Washington, DC office today! Luckily, our office dog is a great Capitol greeter!
Such an honor to attend the monument dedication ceremony of the new Veterans Memorial MIA/KIA in McFarland last week. Let us never forget the enormous sacrifice our veterans and their families have made for our freedom.
Since coming to Congress, my number one goal has been ensuring our Central Valley has a reliable water supply. After years of fighting, at our request, the President signed an Executive Action which will increase water deliveries in California and throughout the entire western United States. Water is the lifeblood of the Central Valley and I can’t wait to see our Valley flourish.
Enjoyed meeting with members of Mira Monte High School's "We the People" club last week in Bakersfield!
BREAKING ➡️ The White House just released an executive action to ensure the Central Valley, and the entire Western United States, have access to a reliable water supply. California families can rest assured that help is on the way.

It’s #FirePreventionWeek! Be sure to take a few minutes out of your day to look around your home and fix any potential fire hazards. Double check your smoke detector batteries and sit down with your family to make an emergency escape plan.
Each year, far too many women become victims of breast cancer. Over the next month, for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, let's all increase our knowledge of breast cancer and recognize the organizations striving to find a cure.
Ag drives our Central Valley economy. Despite its importance, for decades our trade policies have failed to meet the need of California farmers.
Check out what agriculture industry leaders are saying about the new trade agreement > > >
After more than a year of negotiations, the United States reached a consensus regarding trade agreements between the United States, Canada, and Mexico this past weekend. While the agreement is not yet final, agriculture stakeholders across the nation are praising the work between the three nations.
Since the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act was signed into law in December, nearly 33,000 individuals from Fresno, Kern, Kings, and Tulare Counties have entered the workforce. Today I voted to make these critical tax cuts permanent for Central Valley families. Learn more about tax reform here: http://bit.ly/2DBJao3

On this day in 1787, the U.S. Constitution was signed. 231 years later, the Constitution still governs our nation today! #ConstitutionDay
As a nation, we are forever indebted to those brave individuals who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. While sobering, the Portrait of a Warrior - Kern County honors Kern County veterans who were killed in action or died as a result of wounds suffered on the battlefield since 9/11. Their inspirational stories serve as a stark reminder that freedom is not free.
Hurricane Florence is on the way, but the Marroquin Family from Hanford was able to stop by for a tour of the Capitol and photo on the roof before the rain starts!
We will NEVER forget.

BREAKING: The House just passed my bill, H.R. 299, the Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act. H.R. 299 will help ensure all veterans get the healthcare and treatment they deserve. ⚓️
Ensuring our veterans have access to the care and treatment they deserve is incredibly important to me. That's why, Congress must ensure the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has the funding and tools needed to properly care for our nation's veterans.
Tax Reform is already spurring economic growth across the nation. As a result of the new law, MEC Aerial Work Platforms, a local Fresno County business, was able to give their employees bonuses and are looking to hire even more workers. The new tax code is already creating jobs right here in the Central Valley.
Joined with fellow Valley Congressman, Congressman Jim Costa, to remember the victims of the Armenian Genocide. As a nation, we must recognize the horrific events of the Armenian Genocide and work together to ensure such atrocities never take place again.
As we commemorate the 102nd Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, let us remember those whose lives were lost or forever changed by these tragic events.
Hearing from my constituents is the best part of my job. Watch my Fox News debut to learn more about my work representing you in Congress and the ways you and I can stay in touch.
Landed in Washington and rushed to the House Floor to debate my bill, H.R. 3779; the Social Security Fraud Prevention Act. My bill will protect Americans, especially children, veterans, and senior citizens from becoming victims of identity theft.
Every single day millions of gallons of water are flushed into the ocean, wasting water our communities desperately need. The differences between my bill and Senator Feinstein's bill are clear. Which would you choose?
Signing letters to constituents before I fly back to California after a busy week in Washington. Each week, hundreds of my constituents from the Central Valley email and write to me about the issues most important to them. Visit http://bit.ly/ContactDV for information on how to contact me!
After testifying before the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, I went to the House Floor to make sure those in Washington haven't forgotten about the families in California impacted by this historic drought.

On the 98th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, I spoke on the House Floor to remember and honor all those who lost their lives.
This week, I gave my first statement on the House Floor on the budget cuts known as "sequestration" that go into effect today. While I agree Congress needs to get serious about reducing our nation's debt, these broad cuts are not the best method. Instead, I believe we should work to eliminate wasteful government spending while continuing to provide the essential services our communities rely on.
