Application deadline is fast approaching!

Students seeking a nomination to one of our nation’s service academies should submit their completed application and all supporting documentation by October 9, 2026, at 5:00 PM CT.

Completed packets should be emailed in PDF format to [email protected].

Twenty-five years ago, nearly 3,000 Americans went about an ordinary Tuesday morning and never came home.

Today, we remember them. We remember the first responders who ran toward danger, the passengers and crew of Flight 93 who showed incredible courage, and the families who have carried that loss every day since.

For those of us who served in the years that followed, September 11 is a reminder of what we were called to defend and why that service mattered.

I also remember what this country looked like afterward. Americans stood together, prayed together, helped their neighbors, and reminded the world who we are.

May God bless the families of those we lost, and may we never forget September 11, 2001.

Last night, my office hosted our annual Service Academy Forum, bringing together students and families from across the Sixth District to learn more about the incredible opportunity to attend one of our nation’s service academies.

Thank you to all of the students and families who took the time to come out, ask questions, and learn more about the nomination and application process. I’m grateful for your interest in serving our country and for the families who support these young men and women along the way.

I also want to thank the academy representatives who joined us and helped give students a better understanding of what life at a service academy looks like.

Today, I led a Small Business Subcommittee hearing on how America can meet its growing energy and water needs while protecting families, farmers, and small businesses from carrying an unfair share of the cost.

We discussed the role of nuclear power, the need for long-term investment in water infrastructure, and how local contractors, manufacturers, and skilled workers can benefit from the projects being built in their communities.

I was especially glad to welcome my friend, Texas State Representative Cody Harris, to Washington. Cody understands these challenges well, and I’m grateful he shared what Texas is doing to prepare for continued growth while keeping our grid reliable, protecting our water resources, and creating opportunities for small businesses.

Even with this Texas heat, it was a great day.

I got to spend some time with students from Mansfield and Midlothian talking about the opportunity to attend one of our nation’s service academies.

These academies are looking for young men and women who want to lead, serve, and be part of something bigger than themselves. It’s always good to see so many young Texans interested in answering that call.

Today is National Senior Citizens Day, and our team had the chance to spend some time with a few of the folks who helped build the communities we are proud to call home.

Our staff stopped by Alvarado Meadows today to recognize some of their residents, and yesterday visited with folks at the Mansfield Senior Center.

Our seniors have spent a lifetime working, serving, raising families, and making our communities better. We are grateful for everything they have done and continue to do.

Shelby and I join all of Ellis County in mourning the sudden and tragic loss of our friend Cheryl Chambers.

Cheryl was a dedicated public servant who truly cared about the people she served. She was always there with a helping hand, sound advice, and a heart for service.

We are praying for Steve and the entire Chambers family, that God’s grace and peace will surround them in the days ahead.

Ellis County has lost a faithful public servant and a dear friend. Cheryl will be deeply missed.
