I will continue to call attention to this very important issue, and I want us to move forward with an open heart and an open mind.

My prayers go out to the families of the 500,000 Americans who lost their lives to the coronavirus pandemic. As we pass this tragic milestone, I urge you to continue wearing a mask, stay socially distanced, and to take the vaccine when it is available.
Exceptional voter turnout should be celebrated. Today, I led members of the Georgia delegation in expressing our profound concerns with newly-introduced legislation in the Georgia Legislature that would limit early voting and restrict access to the polls.
Yesterday at our House Committee on Financial Services hearing, I addressed the CEO's of Robinhood and Reddit regarding the recent market volatility fueled by social media.
When tweets and social media posts do more to move the market than material legitimate information, the risk to everyday investors is enormous.
House Committee on Financial Services have worked tirelessly to ensure strong investor protections and a fair financial system. At this week’s hearing, the Committee focused on understanding what transpired with #GameStop stock and other stocks.

As I emphasized in my opening remarks yesterday, the COVID-19 pandemic is unlike anything the world has ever seen. It has affected every American and we must do what it takes to get the spread under control.
The passage of the Agriculture Committee’s provisions gets us one step closer to feeding the hungry, supplying COVID-19 vaccinations to our rural communities, seeking equitable solutions for Black farmers and other farmers of color, and supporting our food and ag sector supply chains. I look forward to seeing the final passage of the full bill on the House floor soon.

Today, as we remember the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp 76 years ago, we pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the Holocaust, and we reaffirm our commitment to counter antisemitism, racism, and other forms of intolerance. #WeRemember
My staff and I worked hard to deliver concrete results for you and your community in the 116th Congress, and I look forward to continuing this great work in the new year.
All of our hearts are broken at the passing of our loved one, Hank Aaron. My wife, Alfredia, Hank Aaron’s sister, and I, and our entire family are deeply saddened at his passing. But we know that the Lord said to all of us, “let your light shine so that the whole world may see your great works.” And Hank Aaron did just that.
And not just the 755 home run record for Major League Baseball, but also as a father, a son, a brother, a husband, a great friend to so many people, and a shining light for Atlanta, our nation, and the world. Our entire family wants to thank all of those who have reached out and have given comfort to us.
Congratulations Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff on being sworn into office today. Nearly a quarter of rural Americans still do not have access to fast speed broadband services, and COVID-19 has exposed this. We must increase our abilities to connect all citizens to remote education, telemedicine, and other essential services. #RuralBroadBandDay

The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed a growing rift in our economy. While some companies are able to offer telecommuting opportunities to keep their employees safe and their productivity high, our frontline workers are more likely to experience job interruptions, health risks, and economic loss. Our nation's economic recovery plan must push for strategies that narrow the wealth gap and prioritize economic growth for frontline workers. #ForThePeople
Today I had the honor of presenting Congressional Black Caucus Spouses Education Scholarships to four exceptional students from Georgia's Thirteenth District. I am proud to recognize and celebrate their achievements, and I know that our future is bright with this generation at the helm. Today, I participated in a House Committee on Financial Services hearing on Oversight of The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s and Federal Reserve’s Pandemic Response. I called on the Federal Reserve’s Chair Jerome Powell and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin to address housing and homeownership instability, the securitization of mortgages in banking, and the impact that this pandemic continues to have on farmers and those in the agricultural business.
Today I took to the House Floor to address the dire housing crisis that this pandemic has placed onto American homeowners and renters. Nothing is more important than showing the American people we care about them. We can’t tell them to stay inside their homes, if they don’t have a home.
