New research by ARS scientists can now identify whether a pig fetus is resistant to porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus infections, which can cause major losses to pig farmers. This research may help producers breed pigs based on a fetusโ€™ ability to resist the infection and thrive despite maternal infection. https://bit.ly/3k1ngLd

Did you know true hoppers produce honeydew? They have a modified midgut, which shunts much of what they swallow almost straight out their anus. The honeydew of some treehoppers and few leafhoppers is held up for ants to collect. The opportunistic ants' presence protects the treehoppers.
