The decision to close Air Force Inns was made by Air Force Higher Headquarters in January 2022 due to continued low occupancy rates over the past 5 years and the abundance of lodging options in the local area.
JBAB will still offer on-base lodging through the Navy Lodge, which can be contacted at 202-563-6950 or

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS | hosted Commissioner Clara Botstein, the director of legislation and governmental relations at the D.C. Office of the Mayor for Education, and Cherise Imai, the executive director of the Military Interstate Compact Commission, on March 15.
11th Wing and JBAB Vice Commander, Col. Erica Rabe; the JBAB school liaison, Alonso Hay; the Naval District Washington (NDW) school liaison, Horace Franklin; and members of the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling Force Support Squadron engaged with Botstein and Imai in an effort to familiarize them with the diverse mission sets on the installation.
Botstein and Imai also spent time with our partners over at the LEARN D.C. campus to learn more about JBAB's first charter school, which has served as an important connection point between our military and local civilian community. LEARN was selected through a rigorous process conducted by the Ward 8 Parent Operator Selection Team (POST) as the new school that would serve children who live on JBAB and in the D.C. region.

UPDATE | Given a significant increase in testing at the clinic and the anticipated continued increase through the holiday season, we’ve put together a brief reminder of who should be tested.
Who should get tested:
- People who have symptoms of Covid-19
- People who have come into close contact with someone with Covid-19 should be tested to check for infection:
- Fully vaccinated persons should be tested 5-7 days after exposure
- People who are not fully vaccinated should be tested immediately. If negative, test again 5-7 days after their last exposure or immediately if symptoms develop
What if my test result is positive?
o Symptomatic personnel:
- Must isolate at home for 10 days. May return to work if at least 24 hours fever free AND symptoms have improved at the 10 day point.
o Asymptomatic personnel:
- Vaccinated – isolate at home for 10 days. If you develop symptoms during that timeframe, continue to isolate for at least 10 days after symptoms began.
- Unvaccinated – isolate at home for 10 days. May return to work at the end of 10 days if you remain asymptomatic.
What if my test result is negative?
- Symptomatic personnel:
o Isolate at home until symptoms have improved AND you are fever-free without the use of fever reducing medication for at least 24 hours.
- Asymptomatic personnel:
o Unvaccinated: Quarantine at home for 14 full days. Test again 5-7 days after the known exposure. If negative, continue to quarantine until 14 days is complete.
o Vaccinated: May return to work with mask on as long as you remain asymptomatic. Get tested between days 5-7 after a known exposure. If positive – isolate at home. If negative, return to work.
*if you test positive while you are asymptomatic your ten day quarantine period must start from the day you became symptomatic*
And remember to do your part my maintaining good practices such as hand washing, mask wear and social distancing whenever possible!
