The episode also discusses why “hard to reach populations” is a turn of phrase overdue for retirement, and why Black and Brown communities still need nuanced information about PrEP services.

NASTAD is a social justice driven organization that has acknowledged we will not end the HIV and hepatitis epidemics and related syndemics without dismantling the systems of oppression that fuel racial disparities in access and outcomes. Yesterday, a jury found Derek Chauvin guilty of the murder of George Floyd, and while this is a small step toward accountability, there is still much work to do to end racist police violence and prioritize the lives, health, and well-being of Black people.
