🚨 SCAM AWARENESS & VICTIM SUPPORT — DON’T REMAIN SILENT
Today, another important step was taken in the fight against online fraud and financial scams.
Two individuals accused of defrauding victims were brought before the court following investigations into separate alleged scam cases.
In one matter, a young man alleged to have falsely presented himself as “U.S. Army General Warren Morgan” was apprehended in connection with allegations of defrauding Mrs. Delaina of a substantial amount of money.
In another case, an individual who allegedly presented himself as an investment professional and encouraged victims to invest in Bitcoin was apprehended following allegations that he defrauded Mrs. Giudice.
The cases were brought before the appropriate authorities, where the accused persons faced charges relating to the alleged offenses and was sentenced to 14 years imprisonment. Where funds or assets are successfully recovered through lawful proceedings, and have been returned to victims in accordance with the applicable legal process.
These cases serve as an important reminder: scammers can use convincing identities, fake investment opportunities, romantic relationships, military titles, social media profiles, and other deceptive methods to gain people’s trust and take their money.
