Here's What Extreme Heat Looks Like: Profoundly Unequal

"Nearly everywhere around the world, heat waves are more frequent and longer-lasting than they were 70 years ago." The continued burning of fossil fuels has increased the amount and severity of heatwaves around the world. While this is an issue for everyone, it disproportionately affects families of lower economic status, exposing how climate change fuels inequality. #climatecrisis #climateaction

Earth is overheating. This year is poised to be one of the hottest ever. Millions are already feeling the pain, but the agony of extreme heat is profoundly unequal across the globe.

Economists Agree: Pricing Carbon is the Best Way to Reduce Emissions

At the Partnership for Responsible Growth, we believe the most effective, efficient, and thorough path to a clean, green economy is through a global, uniform, significant price on carbon. If we make fossil fuels pay for their external costs, and thus remove the massive subsidies they currently receive, clean energy will become significantly more competitive and behavior will shift. By pricing carbon-based fuels when they enter the economy, producers will pay, and users will see a more truthful price of burning dirty fuels. If the majority or all of the revenues are rebated as carbon dividends to all Americans, most households will be significantly better off. It also could make sense to use a portion of the revenues to fund our transition to a cleaner economy by investing in green infrastructure, and to help affected communities transition. A fee on carbon can be spread globally by imposing it at our border, and using diplomacy to spread the story of our success in transitioning to a cleaner, greener, healthier and stronger economy. Please join us, and help!
