Adequate shelter is not only a basic human need, but it is also a fundamental human right. Living conditions of all citizens of the world depend upon the protection and sustainability of our earthly home.
Today we celebrate #InternationalDayOfNonViolence on the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, who was a leader in the movement for India’s independence and became an advocate of peace world-wide. World Citizen Action Day Today, we celebrate World Citizen Action Day, by taking actions to support the earth and all its inhabitants. Whether claiming our world citizenship status by registering through the World Service Authority (www.worldservice.org/reg.html), learning about our rights affirmed in the Universal Declaration, fulfilling duties to one another and the environment, or simply helping someone in need, World Citizen Action Day is meant to inspire us to not only contemplate the change we want to see in the world, but to be and make that change. Garry Davis’ brave action, seventy years ago, to transcend the confines of the nation-state confirms that every individual has the power to create a world that works for everyone. "The world is one, we are the world citizens, and you've got to claim it. We'll make world peace together." -- Garry Davis
“The most essential message that Garry Davis gave is that we the people can create world peace. We can create government of, by, and for the people of the world. The will of the people is a powerful force to change the world.” —Arthur Kanegis #WorldCitizenship
