Hello fellow international students,

Just a friendly reminder that most of us will need to file a Form 8843 with the IRS, even though we didn't earn any income in the U.S. in 2014. Why? because you are considered as a nonresident alien for tax purposes

You can find a copy of the Form 8843 here:http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8843.pdf

Deadline for filing: If you received NO taxable income, the filing deadline is June 15, 2015. If you did receive taxable income, the filing deadline is April 15, 2015 for both Form 8843 and the tax return.

Where to file form 8843, if you have no income? Department of the Treasury, Internal Revenue Service Center, Austin, TX 73301-0215.

Confused? Have questions? please contact the Tax Department at [email protected] or (571) 553-8313.

How America (Not Ireland) Made St. Patrick's Day as We Know It

Roses are red
Violets are blue
The river in Chicago... are green...!

Why??? because it's St. Patrick's day tomorrow. A day when people celebrate the Irish culture and traditions. So, tomorrow, let's wear something green, try a green beer at a local bar ... all in the name to honor Irish heritage and its rich culture and traditions!

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/2015/03/150316-st-patricks-day-ireland-irish-holiday-nation/

Immigrants brought the holiday to America and turned it into a celebration of Irish pride.
