Excellent conversation with Katrina Fotovat, Sr. Official at the Department of State: Office of Global Women's Issues, and her team today at The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the U.S. and Canada. Explored new avenues for #Uzbekistan – the U.S. cooperation collaborating together with recently established The White House Gender Policy Council. Suggested to revitalize previously postponed #Uzbekistan-#Afghanistan-the U.S. Trilateral Forum of Female Business Leaders. Despite big accomplishments towards ensuring gender equality and women empowerment done by Gov.uz, #American best practices and expertise are in high demand.

Had a comprehensive exchange of ideas on #Uzbekistan - the U.S. relations and perspectives in short and medium runs with Ambassador Stephen Sestanovich, the fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. What an amazing coincidence meeting him at the CFR’s centennial. Have been subscribing it’s Foreign Affairs, one of the U.S.’s most influential foreign policy magazines, since mid-2000s.

Today is 685th birthday of #Tamerlane who in three decades united huge territories from #China to #Europe, from #AralSea to #ArabSea, all ruled from #Samarkand. But, the biggest footprint he left is the medieval enlightenment laying the foundation for the #Timurid #Renaissance.

Visit to Uzbekistan

Spring (especially April - May) is the best time to visit Uzbekistan. The warm and dry weather (68°-85°F) allows #enjoying the heat without it being uncomfortably hot. Most places are really quiet, which means you can capture some brilliant photos of #Uzbekistan’s impressive architecture.

Pleased to see him in #Tashkent conducting meetings with his counterparts to foster mil-to-mil cooperation.

Long-awaited development - a new route connecting #Sokh district (🇺🇿 exclave in 🇰🇬) w/ #Ferghana is opened that has shortened the distance from 180 to 30 km. Agreements achieved between Шавкат Мирзиёев - Shavkat Mirziyoyev & Sadyr Japarov (Кыргыз Республикасынын Президенти) make possible the desires of 🇺🇿🇰🇬ppl to strengthen neighboring ties.

Today I have attended the O'zbekiston Respublikasi Oliy Majlisi Senati hearing on the current state of Uzbekistan – the U.S. relations. Since 2017 Uzbekistan Parliament's upper chamber has been actively exercising its oversight authority to question the implementation of laws and regulations, as well as international agreements. Indeed, a great deal of work has been done over the last years to expand and deepen our bilaterals. Stressed the importance of ensuring the continuity and consistency of Uzbekistan - the U.S. Strategic Partnership under Joe Biden. Thanks to Шавкат Мирзиёев - Shavkat Mirziyoyev's progress of reforms, the constructive and well-balanced foreign policy we've reached new heights in 🇺🇿🇺🇸 relations, and I'm confident more to be achieved.

Good morning, and Happy #Nowruz!

Thank you to the Embassies of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan and to the Oxus Society for inviting me to the celebration. Every year, many Americans mark the start of Spring together, reminding us of our connections to each other. Although a pandemic continues to prevent us from gathering in person, this holiday brings us together virtually wherever we may be. The #Nowruz tradition is thousands of years old, but it is always represented renewal - a New Year, new opportunities, new friendships, new hopes. Whether we celebrate by lighting candles, sharing a meal with loved ones, or enjoying traditional music or poetry let us all be inspired to rededicate ourselves to our families, our communities, and to building a tomorrow that is better than today.

Over the last four years, unprecedented progress made in Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan relations: bilateral trade has grown five-fold; over 85% of the border has been delimitated and demarcated; people-to-people ties among bordering regions significantly warmed up.
