I met with Maine members of the Forest Resources Association to discuss ways to strengthen the industry and its workforce, including trucking and logging apprenticeship programs. The forest products industry is an integral part of our state’s heritage and economy, and I remain committed to supporting it. I secured $200 million for loggers and timber haulers in the COVID-19 relief package late last year, which has provided direct assistance to these critical businesses and their employees.
