Hi all, I am an American Studies doctoral candidate at the Freie Universität, Berlin (Germany), writing a dissertation on celebrity feminism in contemporary US-American pop music. From March 16th to the 20th I will be in Washington DC to interview anyone who wants to discuss pop music celebrities that are labelled as feminist by themselves, their fans, or the media. Examples of such celebrity feminists are Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Kesha, Katy Perry, Lorde, Selena Gomez, Fergie, Jennifer Lopez, and Lady Gaga. I want to use interviews as the starting point for my research. Since I know rotary clubs often have large networks (my brother and sister both lived in the US for a year through the rotary exchange program), I was hoping you might be willing to help me by sharing my search message, or perhaps even would know someone with opinions on these things I could talk to? You can reach me through Facebook chat or send an email to [email protected]. Best wishes from Berlin, Annelot Prins P.S. For more about me and my project, please visit:
