CDA welcomed Mr. Bill Behrens, Vice President and Global Head of Government Affairs at Kraft Heinz, for a productive discussion. They exchanged insights on Indonesia’s political and economic landscape, 75 years of Indonesia-U.S. diplomatic relations, Kraft Heinz’s global operations, and initiatives aimed at establishing Indonesia as one of the key export hubs for the company.

CDA was delighted to host Mayor Andrei Angouw of Manado, who led the city’s delegation at the SelectUSA Investment Summit. Together, they explored opportunities to boost Manado, Indonesia - United States trade, particularly in seafood and SME products. Additionally, discussions centered on potential investments in Manado’s infrastructure, public transportation, and water supply. Mayor Andrei Angouw will further engage with US business communities during his visit to promote trade and investment opportunities in Manado.
Manado, the capital of North Sulawesi, is a thriving city surrounded by natural beauty, with volcanoes to the south and the Celebes Sea to the north. With a rich cultural heritage and a unique blend of indigenous and Dutch colonial influences, Manado offers historic landmarks, local cuisine, and warm hospitality. It’s also a popular base for exploring the region, including nearby Bunaken National Park, known for its incredible marine biodiversity and world-class diving and snorkeling.
Exploring Madakaripura Waterfall: Java’s Tallest Cascade
Madakaripura Waterfall, located in East Java’s Probolinggo Regency, is a stunning natural attraction boasting towering cliffs reaching about 200 meters high, earning it the title of the tallest waterfall in Java and one of the highest in Indonesia.
Besides its height, Madakaripura Waterfall’s charm lies in its circular cliff formations, resembling a towering glass, and the unique way water flows not only from the center but also through narrow crevices, creating a drizzly effect as if it’s raining from all directions beneath the waterfall.
To reach Madakaripura Waterfall, tourist must drive approximately 37 km from Probolinggo City to Branggah. From the entrance, tourists must trek for about 20 minutes to reach the waterfall.
Perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway, this beauty offers stunning views and a chance to recharge in nature.

Upacara wisuda Joint Advance Warfighting School (JAWS) angkatan ke 20 dilaksanakan pada hari Jumat, 7 Juni, pukul 0900 di Mc Arthur Auditorium Joint Force Staff College (JFSC), National Defense University, Norfolk, Virginia. Angkatan yang diwisuda tahun ini berjumlah 43 wisudawan yang terdiri dari 10 Perwira US Army, 10 Perwira US Air Force, 7 Perwira US Navy, 3 Perwira US Marine Corps, 1 Perwira US Space Force, 1 personel Departement of State dan 7 International Fellows.
Pembicara utama pada wisuda tahun ini adalah Admiral Christopher W. Grady, Vice Chairman of The Joint Chief of Staff.
Pada kesempatan ini juga dua orang perwira Indonesia An. Kolonel Arm Lufti dan Kolonel Pnb Muchtadi Anjar berhasil menyelesaikan pendidikan di JAWS dan memperoleh gelar Master of Science degree in Joint Campaign Planning and Strategy.

Upacara wisuda Resident Course US Army War College tahun 2024 dilaksanakan pada hari Jumat, 7 Juni, pukul 0900 di Wheelock Bandstand di lapangan parade bersejarah Carlisle Barracks. Angkatan yang diwisuda tahun ini terdiri dari 368 wisudawan yang terdiri dari 213 Perwira TNI Angkatan Darat, 7 Angkatan Laut, 22 Angkatan Udara, 17 Marinir, 3 Angkatan Antariksa, 31 Sipil, dan 75 Fellow Internasional.
Pembicara utama pada wisuda tahun ini adalah Hon. Kathleen H. Hicks, Wakil Menteri Pertahanan. Hicks adalah wakil menteri pertahanan ke-35, yang dilantik pada 9 Februari 2021.
Pada kesempatan ini juga dua orang perwira Indonesia An. Kolonel Inf Ganda Simatupang dan Kolonel Inf Slamet Riadi berhasil menyelesaikan pendidikan di USAWC dan memperoleh gelar Master of Strategic Studies. Hadir pada acara tersebut Atad RI di Washington DC Kolonel Arh Camas Sigit Prasetyo.

The team had the pleasure of welcoming , Director General of Public Information and Communications of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, and the Information and Media Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ team (4/6). The visit highlighted the strong cooperation between 🇮🇩 and 🇺🇸 in IT and digitalization over the years.
During the discussion, the delegation underscored concrete collaborations with the US to increase connectivity in 🇮🇩 and strengthen 🇮🇩’s digital growth, including expanding internet access through SpaceX’s Starlink. The delegation also discussed the role of IT and social media platforms as vital tools of Indonesia’s digital diplomacy.
DG Kansong also had a meeting with Ms. Liesyl Franz, Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Cyberspace Security - U.S. Department of State, where they shared insights and explored potential 🇮🇩🇺🇸cooperation on safeguarding cyberspace and advancing our global digital future.

On 6/4, hosted the appreciation night for the 2024 overseas election committee of Washington, D.C.
Each member of the committees, consisting of , , KPPSLN, Pantarlih, and Election Security Team, received a certificate of appreciation handed by CDA to recognize all their effort and dedication to ensure the Indonesian National Election for Washington, D.C. area went properly according to the law and regulations.
The event was also attended by Mr. , Director General for Information and Public Communication, Ministry of Communication and Information.
Once again, we expressed our appreciation and congratulations to the Indonesian overseas election committees in Washington, D.C. for successfully organizing and guarding our Indonesian National Election this year, with higher turnout-voters than average in overseas locations, contributing to the largest single day election in the world.
Let us continue to protect and practice democracy as a fundamental value of our nation.
On June 7, 2024, along with 1200 other students (1080 US students and 120 international students), Major Sultan Syahrir (Judge Advocate), Major Czi Yusfi Fitrawan (Engineering), and Major Petrus P. Prabowo (Infantry) completed their education at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth. 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
The three officers also earned Master of Military Art and Studies (Major Fitrawan and Major Prabowo) and Master of Operational Studies (Major Syahrir) degrees from the same institution. The U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (U.S. Army CGSC) is a Professional Military Education level for future Army leaders at the operational level.
This year, the U.S. Army CGSC was attended by 1200 students, including 120 international students representing 97 different countries.

More than 350 institutions from more than 50 countries attended NAFSA. The Indonesian booth was highly visited, marking the increasing interest to collaborate and partner with the Indonesia higher education.

Around 160 Indonesian diaspora, on-site and virtual, joined the discussion on dual citizenship with the Minister of Law and Human Rights, H.E. .laoly at the Embassy (05/30).
CDA expressed his gratitude towards the Minister for his valuable time to meet with the Indonesian diaspora. The Minister addressed numerous breakthroughs the Indonesian government has made in delivering immigration and residency services to Indonesian diaspora around the world.
The Minister also pointed out positive measures that have been taken in pursuing a new initiative “Overseas Citizenship of Indonesia”, where Indonesian diaspora would be able to enjoy an expanded immigration and residency status.

CDA and the team at had the pleasure of welcoming the delegation from the Public Account Committee of the Indonesian Parliament to Washington, D.C. on May 28th. The visit provided a valuable opportunity for the delegation to learn best practices from the United States House Committee on Oversight and Accountability.
By understanding how the Committee ensures efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability within the federal government and its agencies, the delegation aims to enhance our own governance systems. Strengthening checks and balances will ultimately lead to more transparent and responsible governance in Indonesia.
This collaboration contributes to the advancement of improving good governance, fostering public trust, and improving public services.

CDA and Home Staff hosted a welcoming dinner for the Budget Committee of the Indonesian House of Representatives on May 22nd. Strengthening inter-parliamentary relations is an important aspect of our Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue. As part of this effort, the Budget Committee met with the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) on May 23rd to exchange best practices and enhance the quality of legislative mechanisms for budget allocation.
