Naval Lodge No. 4

Naval Lodge No. 4 Naval Lodge No. 4 masonic lodge meets at 7:30pm (dinner at 6:30pm) on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, except July and August. Naval Lodge No. 4 is one of many masonic lodges that meet on Capitol Hill.
(18)

It was originally chartered as Washington Naval Lodge No. 41 by the Grand Lodge of Maryland in 1805. However, only six years later, it joined with five other lodges in the federal district to form the new Grand Lodge of Washington, DC, and was re-chartered as Naval Lodge No. 4. In the early 1800s the Navy Yard was one of the largest employers in the city and for nearly the next 100 years the Lodge was mainly composed of craftsmen and workers from the Navy Yard and the market nearby. In 1893, Naval Lodge bought the current location and began building its current building. Once the building was completed in 1894, it became a center of Masonic and community activity on Capitol Hill and Southeast Washington. Today it is the oldest Masonic building in the District that is still used for Masonic purposes. For more information visit our website at http://www.naval-lodge.org

Capitol Hill 4th of July Parade 2020

While we can't have a physical Capitol Hill 4th of July parade this year, I'm happy and excited to bring to you this year's virtual 4th of July parade.

Naval Lodge teamed up with our Capitol Hill neighbors to put together this great tribute to our nation.

I hope you all have a great 4th of July enjoying family and watching fireworks. Stay safe this year and I hope we get to march down 8th St next year.

Happy 4th of July!!!

Naval Lodge No. 4 challenges you to participate in the St. Baldrick's Event hosted by the Naval Lodge for 2020 on March 14th, from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Volunteers will shave their heads in solidarity with children who typically lose their hair during treatment, and we challenge YOU to join us in making a “bald” statement at the Naval Lodge (330 Pennsylvania Ave SE).
While not an easy thing to do, it’s important these children understand they’re not alone in their efforts. Together, our message will be more profound and the task before us easier to accomplish.

But it won’t just be shaved heads! The event will have brunch and refreshments, games with prizes, and music for the whole family. Entertainment will also be provided by WB Travedi DJ skills and live music by Crush Funk. After the shaving, we will adjourn to a nearby venue for further fellowship.

Worldwide a child is diagnosed with cancer every three minutes, and one in five children diagnosed in the U.S. will not survive. With only 4 percent of all federal cancer research funding dedicated to pediatric cancer research, St. Baldrick’s Foundation volunteers, supporters and donors are needed to continue the battle against this devastating disease. Get involved and you'll be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

If you would like to join us and shave your head or make a donation, please visit:

Naval Lodge No. 4 Shutdown Potluck Dinner - Sunday (Jan 13)

Quite a few Brethren across the DC area are being impacted by the current government shutdown. Some are working without pay, some are not being allowed to work, others are contractors that will probably never be paid.

As an informal way to show our appreciation, help out and commiserate, Naval Lodge No. 4 is having a Shutdown Potluck Dinner on Sunday, January 13th at Naval Lodge, assuming we are still shutdown as of Friday, January 11th.

All Masons are welcome and they can bring their whole family. Dress is casual as this is a casual event.

The rules are:

Folks impacted by the shutdown can bring anything they want or nothing at all.
Folks whose jobs aren't impacted should bring a hearty side dish. (Examples: Mac & cheese, potato salad, green bean casserole)
Capitol Hill and White House staff (of all parties) have to bring a main course protein. (Examples: Brisket, fried chicken, veggie lasagna)
This is NOT a cooking competition and stuff can be bought at the store or made or whatever is convenient.

Please RSVP so we know how many to expect. You can leave a comment to let us know what you're bringing.

As always at lodge, NO POLITICS, this is an informal, cheerful, bonding activity. Come, share, and enjoy.
