Don't forget to recommend POST 12 here on Facebook. I know I've been called a "wingnut" in the military as it was a slang, funny term, but exploring charts, checking your compass, and more for direction can often gain help from comrades. Even a shipwreck can be salvaged for great stuff and used on new ships! Through friendship, we continue to grow the post. Sincerely, Marti Mongiello.

This is a serious Public Service Announcement.
No matter who you are voting for:
Be careful when voting.
A good friend of my cousin just finished poll worker training and she texted her this.....Just finished Poll Manager training! I passed all the classes. I want you all to know something...if you are checking in at the polls and they happen to write anything on your ballot before they give it to you to put in the voting machine...a letter, a checkmark, a star, an R or a D any writing of any kind...please request a new ballot. Your ballot could be disqualified if it is written on. Please be on the lookout for this type of behavior.
Shared from a friend
I'm passing this on...

Martin
With the Iraqi Prime Minister in town tomorrow, I have signed the letter now and am enclosing it. I did receive a call from one of my most potent colleagues on team Trump today, after texting him, and he is working with the attorney (a Colonel) to Senator Graham on this (Lindsey is a veteran himself) and delivering the letter to the White House next Thursday. He will be there for President Trump’s acceptance speech after the nomination of the party to run again.
Sincerely, Marti

Dear Major Mahoney,
Dear Ed,
I am happy to report that this is going into Trump's today as well as AMVETS HQ in DC. President Trump was recently our keynote speaker at our annual convention. As our Commander has stated on PBS television, regardless of anyone’s politics – we were very proud to have him as our keynote speaker. It is my most respectful hope and earnest desire to see our committee's work approved in helping you and your work. Our committee is made up of several of our board and trustee members who are veterans (https://theinnofthepatriots.com/trustees-%26-board), and one of them, Orlando Herrera, was blown upside down as a Marine outside of the Beirut barracks blast.

Hire Our Veterans Tax Credit | Business Tax Credits | Maryland Department of Commerce
Maryland
“The Hire Our Veterans Act of 2017 created the Hire Our Veterans Tax Credit Program for employers. This underutilized program enables Maryland employers who qualify to receive an income tax credit equal to 30% of up to the first $6,000 of wages paid to a qualified Veteran employee during the first year of employment.” – George Owings, secretary of the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs

“A lesser-known but very valuable benefit offered by the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs is the Blind Veterans Pension. This program, which only has about 100 enrolled Veterans, provides eligible blind Veterans a pension of $150 per month. Our goal is to continue to identify and enroll every eligible Veteran who deserves this benefit because of their service and sacrifice.” – Joel H. Mutschler, director of the Bureau of Veterans Programs, Initiatives, Reintegration, and Outreach

Virginia Transition Assistance Program (VTAP) | Virginia Department of Veterans Services
Virginia
“The Virginia Transition Assistance Program (VTAP) is the most underused state benefit. VTAP offers transitioning service members and their spouses the best Virginia has to offer. By providing peer-to-peer support through the transition process, VTAP works alongside the transitioning service member or spouse to make referrals that address their specific needs. The referral services could include, but are not limited to resume review, introduction to the Virginia Labor Market, connection with Virginia Values Veterans (V3) certified companies for employment, and other VDVS programs. VTAP serves those seeking employment and/or entrepreneurship opportunities in Virginia or enrollment in one of Virginia’s GI Bill approved institutions.” – Annie Walker, deputy commissioner for Virginia Department of Veterans Services

Who's at the Table? - Vanessa Mahan, Lt. Col, USAF
Vanessa “Siren” Mahan is a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve with 20+ years of military leadership experience and a combat veteran with over 100 combat missions in the F-15E Strike Eagle supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
As a Distinguished Graduate from AFROTC at Purdue University, she attended Joint Strike Navigator Training at Naval Air Station Pensacola, where a Military Sexual Trauma (MST) nearly destroyed her before her career could even takeoff. But reaching her goal of protecting troops and civilians by flying in combat in a post 9/11 world, helped her overcome the MST and other obstacles. She is a champion of diversity and inclusion, on a mission to inspire people and businesses by sharing her story with conviction, humor, and sincerity.
With a passion for physical training discovered after joining the military, Vanessa founded Siren Strong, LLC, a functional fitness and health coaching business dedicated to empowering men and women who want to up-level their wellness. She is a also speaker with Athena’s Voice USA, a badass company founded by two female veterans committed to bringing the wisdom of women warriors to audiences worldwide.
Vanessa enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her active duty Navy husband, her two children, and one rambunctious golden retriever.

SPRiZZi Beverator Product Demonstration
Post 12 AMVETS-DC would like to introduce the Sprizzi Drink-Co. Beverator product, a project we are helping to spearhead on behalf of our military partners. We are working with our military partners to bring awareness to this great product, so we wanted to share this with the AMVETS community, and our Facebook friends. The launch of this product is slated for the fall of 2019, however, we are assisting in helping to prepare for the launch by sharing this video with as many of our members in the military and veteran community as possible and across the nation. This project is a nationwide launch, and we will be working with our partners on this project to ensure members of the military community, veterans, and their families benefit from this initiative. A portion of the proceeds generated from the sales will be donated to help our veterans and their families in need. Please help us in sharing this video with as many people as possible. Thank you for your support. #Post12AMVETSDC #AMVETS #SPRiZZiBeverator #HelpingVeteransThatHaveServed

Supporting Veterans at GWU
The George Washington University embodies the very foundation of our military and supports the mission of all veterans around the world. This is a promo video from GWU, which we believe honors the very veterans we advocate for at Post 12 AMVETS here in Washington, DC. Our 1st Vice Commander, Antwain Thomas, is one of the many students highlighted in this commercial. This is yet another example of how we are helping to advocate and support our veterans across all lanes here at Post 12 AMVETS.
