I want to wish Jean Ann Moon a very happy retirement. She recently retired as the director of the Marshall County Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). She led the organization for 28 years in which they saw so much growth and helped so many people. It was my privilege to work with Jean Ann on so many projects over the years. Yours is a well earned retirement!

Thank you for the overwhelming support for another term in the United States House of Representatives. It is truly my honor to serve you everyday in Congress.

This Halloween, don't let Democrat scare tactics about our country and our President haunt you. The truth is in the facts.

✅ The American economy is making a comeback with a historic GDP surge of 33.1%

This morning in Northport, I was awarded as a National Federation of Independent Business guardian of small business. Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy and they are so important to Alabama. We were at NorthRidge Fitness, one of the thousands of businesses that took advantage of the Paycheck Protection Program we created in Congress to help businesses get through the pandemic. NFIB

Aderholt Statement on Justice Amy Coney Barrett

Justice Amy Coney Barrett will make a great addition to the Supreme Court. Even many Democrats acknowledged that she was highly qualified. I applaud President Donald J. Trump for nominating her and continuing to appoint conservative judges to the federal bench.

We marked an important milestone today in Marion County. Since I created the ReConnect Program to expand broadband three years ago, Tombigbee Electric and their Freedom Fiber internet, have connected 9,000 homes to the internet. Adam Aldridge, who is the principal at Brilliant High School, was connected to broadband just two days ago. According to Steve Foshee with Tombigbee, within 5 years, the 4th Congressional Disrict will be the most broadband connected rural Congressional District in America. More on this tomorrow...

This afternoon we got a great tour of Kappler in Guntersville. They've been making protective suits since 1976. Their suits were on the front lines of the Ebola outbreak in 2014, being used here in the U.S. and in Africa. So, when COVID came along, they were already well prepared to help first responders and medical professionals. They are also hiring. https://www.kappler.com/about/careers

The 2020 Census is officially over. Below are the final self report rates for the 4th District. We finished in 3rd place of the 7 Congressional Districts in Alabama. After the census workers went out to homes, the state ended up with a 99.9% response. During the past six months we've put up a lot of information about the Census and thank you for bearing with us. But the census is so important for everyone.

Thanks to the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center for inviting me to be the first speaker as they resume their monthly lunches. I spoke this morning at an event to announce that five counties in Northwest Alabama (Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Winston and Marion) will receive almost 1 million dollars to assist businesses impacted by Covid-19. We secured this money as part of the CARES Act. It will be administered by the great folks at the Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments (NACOLG).

I got a great tour this morning of the Showa plant in Fayette. This plant and the people who work here are making hundreds of thousands of latex gloves everyday for those in the healthcare field helping to fight COVID-19. They are expanding and hiring more people and decreasing our dependency on Chinese made medical products.

All this week we've been celebrating Made in America Week. Well, for our final post, I'm excited to announce that HomTex Inc in Cullman has been awarded a contract to provide the United States Capitol complex with masks. Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats just released yet another multi-trillion dollar COVID stimulus bill. She reduced the price tag by more than $1 trillion from the version they passed in May, partially by taking out money that would support law enforcement across our country. There’s also $500 million in incentives to promote the release of state and local prisoners, with no guardrails to protect against the release of violent or repeat offenders. While the price tag was reduced by more than $1 trillion, the bill increased in size by 300 pages.

Executive Order on Protecting Vulnerable Newborn and Infant Children | The White House

Protecting the most vulnerable among us is not something to take lightly, it's our responsibility and duty. Babies need care, love, and the utmost protection possible - especially those born prematurely. Thank you Donald J. Trump for taking this action in the fight for life.

The nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to be the next Associate Justice of the Supreme Court is a big win for this country. She is a defender of free speech, a protector of the Constitution, and an advocate for the most vulnerable among us. I applaud President Trump for making such a great nomination, Amy Coney Barrett will make an excellent Supreme Court Justice.

U.S. Secretary of Education Announces 2020 National Blue Ribbon Schools | U.S. Department of Education

‪Congratulations to John S. Jones Elementary School in Rainbow City on earning recognition as a National Blue Ribbon School! This is a great honor and it is well deserved.‬

WASHINGTON — U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos today recognized 367 schools as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2020. The recognition is based on a school's overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

The U.S. Constitution clearly defines how a new justice is to be placed on the Supreme Court. It’s ultimately up to the President to nominate someone and it is the privilege of the Senate to decide when and if a nominee gets a vote. The House of Representatives has no say in matters of choosing a new justice, but I support Senator McConnell in his role as the Senate Majority Leader to guide the nation through this process.

August unemployment drops to 5.6% | Alabama Daily News

We still have work to do to get back to the historic low 2.7% unemployment we had back in February, but we are definitely on the right track. In April, the unemployment rate spiked to 14%. We are already back down to 5.6%. Several counties in the 4th District have some of the lowest unemployment levels in the state. Those include Franklin, Marshall, Cullman, and Cherokee counties at 3.6%.

Alabama’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in August was 5.6%, down from 7.9% in July as the state continues a decline from COVID-caused April spike to nearly 14%.

Great to be here at this historic ceremony and witness the signing of the Abraham Accords. Congratulations to Israel, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates on this remarkable achievement. U.S. leadership across the globe is strong with Donald J. Trump as President.

An historic event is about to take place at the White House. The first time more Arab nations (UAE and Bahrain) have recognized Israel in a quarter century. This, thanks to the diplomacy of Donald J. Trump.

Great to celebrate the culmination of many years of hard work by a lot of people. Today we opened one of the first projects enabled by the Alabama Irrigation Initiative. Investing in Alabama’s irrigation infrastructure will bring significant benefits to crop yields, farm income, and rural communities as a whole. This has been one of my top priorities and something I was proud to help deliver when Ag Appropriations Chairman. Look forward to seeing more projects constructed around the state in the coming years. There is a lot of work ahead, but it will make a big difference for Alabama agriculture.

September 2, 1945 is a day that has been etched in the pages of American history. It marked the official end of World War II, with American soldiers and officials watching as Japanese Foreign Minister Mamoru Shigemitsu signed formal surrender documents aboard the U.S.S. Missouri. Today, 75 years later, there are roughly 300,000 American WWII veterans still alive. To those from the Greatest Generation who served our country, both living and past, thank you for your service!

It was great to help cut the ribbon on new Veteran Service offices in both Lawrence and Winston counties. These offices do so much to help our veterans get the benefits they are entitled to and have earned with their service to our nation.

Glad to see President Trump in Kenosha, WI to speak out against the violence, the looting and lawlessness that has taken place. Our Constitution gives us all the right to protest, and we should always standup for that right. However, what we've been seeing in places like Kenosha and Portland have very little to do with protest and is very much about anarchy and violence.
