There is a major backlog at the National Park Service for reviewing grants that’s delaying millions of dollars in funding for critical wildfire prevention projects.

Congressman Don Beyer and I made it clear they need to address this, and fast. As wildfire seasons grow longer and more destructive, we can't afford unnecessary delays that put our communities and public lands at risk.

Turns out the botched celebrations for Trump’s Freedom 250 debacle are costing even more than he bargained for.

The cherry on top of this corruption cake? He wants taxpayers to foot the $10 million bill.

A month ago, I exposed how Trump's Freedom 250 operation was riddled with self-dealing, political favoritism, and efforts to hijack our nation's birthday for his own agenda.

Now here we are with another funding request, another abuse of taxpayer dollars. It’s the grift that keeps on giving.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to tour the Stinson Beach Fire Department with Chief Jesse and learn more about the incredible work these first responders do to keep our coastal communities safe.

Wildfires and natural disasters are getting more extreme, so investing in preparedness and ensuring our local fire departments have the resources they need is more important than ever.

So much for "merit-based." The Trump administration has now admitted it canceled clean energy grants based on how states voted in 2024.

Weaponizing taxpayer dollars to punish political opponents is a blatant abuse of power and an attack on our democracy.

Last week was the 3rd Annual Reason Reception – where advocates and members from all faiths, or none at all, came together to celebrate religious liberty, constitutional democracy, and the growing movement to protect these fundamental freedoms.

Trump has dragged us into an endless cycle of war with Iran. He’s burning billions of taxpayer dollars on an ego-driven conflict with no clear objective or exit strategy — and keeps asking for more.

This has got to stop. Democrats’ last action before Republicans closed up shop for the summer was to force a vote on another war powers resolution to stop Trump, and we got enough support to pass it.

The American people have spoken. Congress has spoken. End this senseless war now.

House lawmakers voted to cease the conflict, while the Senate stalled a similar effort just hours later.

Congressional Republicans are so wildly out of touch.

Americans are struggling to afford groceries, housing, and health care. The GOP says we don’t have the money to help these folks out – but here they are trying to shell out billions of taxpayer dollars to fund Trump’s war in Iran.

If Republicans think this is what responsible governing looks like, they need to spend a lot less time drinking Trump's warmongering Kool-Aid and a lot more time listening to the people they're supposed to represent.

Republicans' sham "insider trading" bill will not stop insider trading.

Instead, it Trojan-horses the SAVE America Act into a cover-up bill riddled with loopholes and backdoors that let lawmakers keep profiting from stock trades.

If Mike Johnson is serious about banning congressional stock trading, he should bring the bipartisan Restore Trust in Congress Act to the floor, not this political stunt.
