We're extremely excited to announce the first soccer leagues we've been able to offer in almost a year!

While a return to play in D.C. is still not permitted due to COVID-19 restrictions, we've secured space in Maryland to offer limited programming on Saturdays this Spring.

Currently, we have space for the following divisions:

7v7 Women's Open - 6 Teams
7v7 Men's Open - 6 Teams
7v7 CoEd Open - 8 Teams

For full league details, including times, registration dates, and location, check out the link below!

Want to help us give back to the neighborhoods where we play? Join us on Saturday, February 20th for a volunteer event!

What's on the agenda? Last year, we donated four new goals to the city for use by the community at Randall Rec Center in SW. The goals are finally there and we need your help building them!

Space for volunteers is limited to COVID-19 restrictions, so reserve your spot today! Sign up using the link below.

By now, we’ve all heard the news: Organized soccer in DC isn’t happening this Winter.

If you and your teammates are looking for a league to tide you over until that changes, check out our friends down in Alexandria! League play is currently permitted in Virginia.

http://bit.ly/ASAWinterSoccer

The Alexandria Soccer Association has generously agreed to donate a portion of league fees from any team who usually plays in District Sports to help us survive until DC has permitted safe play, once again.

With options for Men’s, Women’s, and CoEd, there’s something for every squad! We strongly encourage anyone wanting to play while soccer is sidelined in DC to look into their Sunday leagues (with a friendly reminder that District Sports has no oversight of ASA run programs, rules, or regulations).

Check out what they have to offer by clicking below!

If it seems like a good fit for you, don’t forget to tell them District Sports sent you!

Purchase a KEEP SOCCER LOCAL shirt today!

Make a purchase: https://districtsportssoccer.org/extratime/

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted local businesses and organizations more drastically than national chains. It's local groups that make a city unique, and when it comes to soccer, our nonprofit leagues are the only locally run program in D.C.

Why KEEP SOCCER LOCAL?

It's a fact: All groups who offer similar soccer leagues to District Sports are for-profit businesses which operate in multiple cities and states. Even if they have a DC / Name!

District Sports is the only adult soccer organization in town that's 1) a nonprofit, and 2) solely focused on D.C. (not New York, Phoenix, Jacksonville, Baltimore, San Jose, New Jersey, etc).

That's why we want to be here to offer LOCAL soccer to the District in 2021 and beyond.

All proceeds from these shirts will be put toward our Extra Time Fundraising Campaign goal.

Katie & WAWSL - Extra Time Fundraising Campaign

Katie serves on the board of the Washington Area Women's Soccer League, which has been playing in D.C. since the 1980s.

In 2018, WAWSL was experiencing some difficulties, and we were happy to help. At District Sports, we believe that a robust soccer scene in the region benefits everyone who loves the game.

Together, we've made incredible progress reinvigorating WAWSL leagues, in addition to creating small-sided Women's leagues in the Summer and Winter seasons, various tournament options, and an off-season pick-up program.

COVID-19 has slowed this progress. For the past 9 months, both WAWSL and District Sports have been unable to run leagues, and growth of women’s soccer in D.C. has been put on pause.

Your help is needed to help our partnership sustain into 2021 and beyond.

Tony & DC SCORES - Extra Time Fundraising Campaign

Tony's been playing in District Sports leagues for nearly a decade. He also works fo DC SCORES, a local service organization providing no-cost soccer and literacy programs to students in D.C.

At District Spots, we're proud to use our reach to support the work of other local organizations. In past years, we've worked with DC SCORES in a variety of ways, raising money and awareness for the great work they do in D.C. area schools.

In a normal year, our self-sustaining model uses league revenue to support our operations and charitable giving to groups like DC SCORES.

Without the ability to run leagues, we need support in order to ensure we'll be around in 2021 to pick up where we left off, supporting DC SCORES and other partner organizations for years to come.

Mimi and Roxy - Extra Time Fundraising Campaign

Mimi and Roxy became friends through playing together on Revolution FC (with a minor assist from the District Sports Free Agent list!).

At District Spots, we're proud to have players come together, create meaningful connections, and form lasting friendships.

As a nonprofit, our organization has been hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, keeping players like Mimi and Roxy off the field for 9 months. In a normal year, our self-sustaining model uses league revenue to support our operations and charitable giving.

The level of support we've been shown so far is amazing, but we still are on uncertain ground. Without the ability to run leagues, we need community support in order to ensure we'll be around in 2021.

Jurgen's Story - Extra Time Fundraising Campaign

Jurgen's been playing and refereeing in District Sports for over a decade. It's this kind of longstanding commitment and dedication that we feel sets us apart from all other leagues in D.C.

As a nonprofit, our organization has been hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, keeping referees like Jurgen off the field for 9 months. In a normal year, our self-sustaining model uses league revenue to support our operations and charitable giving.

The level of love we've been shown so far is amazing, but we still are on uncertain ground. Without the ability to run leagues, we need community support in order to ensure we'll be around in 2021.

Extra Time Fundraising Campaign

This #GivingTuesday, we're doing something we've never had to do before... ask directly for community support.

As a nonprofit organization, we've always been able to fund our operations and charitable giving through hosting adult soccer leagues. COVID-19 changed that.

It's been 9 months since we've been able to offer leagues, and it's pushed us to the financial brink.

Without help, there's a very real chance we will not be around once it's safe to play soccer, again. If this happens, only for-profit, nationally-run, corporate leagues will remain as options for play in 2021 and beyond.

Please consider donating towards our fundraising goal, sharing our story with your friends and teammates, or sharing this campaign on social media.
