Some photos from recent events
Saturday's Wreaths Across America turned out to be a nice day, myself and a few of my neighbors went along with an estimated 40,000 volunteers to lay wreaths. I never carried a wreath so far before looking for an empty grave but we found some in section 11 after visiting an old friend and the memorial marker of my friend's uncle who was shot down over Vietnam in 1972.

We need the funds to pay for our registration fees for various events such as Virginia Scottish Games $300, Scottish Walk $75, JROTC Scottish Achievement medals etc. which as of now are being paid out of pocket by members. I have submitted the post as a 501(c) which is pending and also involved a fee.
If we can get each member to sponsor 2 wreaths, this could seriously offset these costs. Please forward the link and instructions to your friends and family.
Thank You for your Patriotism and I hope to see many of you at Scottish Walk on December 4th, 2021.

WWI Memorial DC. Almost complete, gotta add a Saltire wreath, Bill Wolf
How proud we are of every single person who has answered the call to serve our Country and to also step up to help others across the world. These 7 wars represent much service and sacrifice and loss of precious lives. If you would be interested in any of these 14 inch round USA-made metal tribute plaques from WWI to the present conflict or if you would like the full set to display on a wall, please contact us Pin-Ups For Vets: [email protected]
SAMS Post # 1739
With heavy hearts, we are sadden to report that Post 1739 Adj Bill Irwin passed away yesterday in a car accident near his home. Bill was a great leader, a veteran of the Marine Corp, and worked with the Army as a civilian at Carlisle PA which he just recently retired from. He was a charter member and co founder of SAMS post 1739. We will miss Bill very much. He leaves behind Ann his wife. more details forth coming.

#OTD - July 18, 1792—Continental Navy Capt. John Paul Jones dies in Paris, France. A legend during the American Revolution, Jones argues for Congress establishing a United States Navy. When Congress failed to do so, the unemployed captain found work as a rear admiral in the Russian navy for several years, but eventually returned to France, where he later died.
More than a century later, his body is discovered, exhumed, brought back to the United States under huge fanfare and reburied in a magnificent sarcophagus at the United States Naval Academy.
We talked about doing this before. Future plans, SAMS?
Please note that due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation this event will now be broadcast on Facebook Live at 1pm Monday 25th May.
