This year, we’re strongly emphasizing internalizing lessons and delivering top-notch Tier 1 instruction. By honing in on Explicit Instruction and Checks for Understanding (CFUs), and using data-driven insights, our teachers are ready to elevate their teaching practices. We’re also embracing Social Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies and Co-teaching to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment.

This 18-month, cross-school program is dedicated to developing exceptional leaders in DC schools. Led by the Schoool Leader Lab team and a distinguished adjunct faculty of national experts, they focus on antiracism, people, and academic leadership skills.
Throughout this journey, participants will:
✅ Notice and disrupt patterns of racism in themselves and in their schools
✅ Set conditions for those they lead to thrive
✅ Create and maintain instructional systems to maximize student learning

We're thrilled that Two Rivers PCS has been awarded the Emerging Commuter Program Award! 🎉
Last week, our school was recognized for our exceptional efforts in improving our commuter program.
“Two Rivers PCS serves grades PK3-8th grade, in the NE area of the city. They have shown big commitments and outstanding efforts to promote sustainable transportation by creating a TDM plan and enrolling in the SchoolPool, ride matching platform and stand as a gold level transportation all-star. Through the TDM plan Two Rivers has implemented various efforts such as informing the staff about commuter benefits and survey to enhance the commute benefit program. The school's PTA representative also plays a big role in encouraging students and families to carpool to school. They have invited goDCgo to organize multiple events at their school. As a result, they have seen increase in staff enroll in pretax benefits, student bike pick-up and drop off.
Your efforts have undoubtedly made a positive impact on the school, the surrounding neighborhood, and the city. Congratulations, Two Rivers, once again on your sustainable transportation effort, and I look forward to seeing your continued success in the future.”
