LIC(Life In Colour) Film Festival began in the United Kingdom in 2013 and permanently relocated to the United States in 2017 with the screening of Independent, Small Budget movies that shows the diversity and colour in our world, and also promotes honest, spiritual ways we can all connect with each other as human beings. We aim to encourage storytellers who might not view film making as something they could access as a viable medium to tell their stories.

Festivals such as these, celebrated across the country, bring Nigerians closer together and help improve our collective appreciation of our diversity, while also projecting our rich history and cultures to the world.
The Argungu Agricultural and Fishing Festival was suspended for 11 years as a result of insecurity. This year, by the grace of God, this festival is back. I joined the people of Kebbi to celebrate this restoration, as well as the progress being made in restoring peace and security.
Festivals such as these, celebrated across the country, bring Nigerians closer together and help improve our collective appreciation of our diversity, while also projecting our rich history and cultures to the world. We must therefore continue to support and promote these festivals.
At the Fair I saw on display many products; all proof of the progress we have made as a nation in feeding ourselves. I am pleased that our farming, fishing and pastoral communities have truly embraced our administration’s programmes, and helped prove that we can grow what we eat.
Kebbi State has played a pivotal role in our agricultural revolution. Our food security program started there in 2015. Governor Bagudu is also a key member of the National Food Security Council, which I chair. I thank the people of Kebbi for their support to the Governor.
For all our farmers, fishing and livestock communities, and agro entrepreneurs, you have truly made me proud. We shall continue to support you with access to credit, adequate inputs, and access to markets and policies that will promote and support your competitiveness.

At the John Jay Institute in Philadelphia, PA Thursday October 8, 2015.
I'll be in Philadelphia this Thursday, Oct. 8 as guest of honor at Dinner and Conversation with fellows of The John Jay Institute.
We are all Strangers - One of the truly enlightening things from my work with refugees is that wise minds take life as God has made it; it is a journey to the home you never had, but you know you are going there. This journey begins at the first step not when we become refugees, but in the courtyard of Love. Like when a man loves a woman, no matter where he is located on earth, where she is becomes the address of his soul. There, something appears to us, and we begin to discern the definite. The definite, think of this word. Human beings see and try to hold on to the immaterial world; the definite reveals itself through art. Art helps us to love, suffer, hope, contemplate and become imperial citizens of an immortal kingdom. Woe to them who shall have the world only. Death will take all from them. Try to love souls, you shall find them again at that eternal address of the soul - Ibiyinka Alao

In art as it is in life, anyone who bothers about originality will never be original. The thing is to simply tell the truth! Even if it has been told before, it still does not have examples as imitation does. Telling the truth makes us original without ever meaning to.

HAPPY 54th INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY TO NIGERIA AND NIGERIANS AT HOME AND IN THE DIASPORA! MAY GOD BLESS OUR BELOVED COUNTRY!

09/29/2014
Nigeria my beloved country, Happy 54th Birthday!
180 million people, over 300 languages, Tropical Sunshine,
Warm Deserts, Glorious Mountains, Everlasting Rain,
Green Forests and Eternal Stars of the Night
I have traveled far and seen much
I fly on Eagle's wings
As he carries me home to the land of "Unity in Diversity".
Sometimes I wish this Bird will carry me back to the days we used to know
Nights when we listened to Father's stories
And Mother would sing those songs of Freedom
The Life and Times of a new country
Within the Reel Riot of a Memory Parade
When I consider all the Sunsets I have seen around the World,
None quite compares with your Sunsets on Fire!
And when I look at all the Sunrises I have seen
There is none as Glorious as the Magnificent Sunrise of my Childhood
It is quite a sight to behold really;
From that window of childhood and into the Now
It still reminds me that no matter how long a night may seem,
There is a Bright Day coming in the Morning
It is a new Day for you Nigeria, Africa and all her Children
So help us God!

Facts about the Nigeria Embassy's Chancery:
The Washington chapter of the American Institute of Architects awarded the chancery a 2002 award for excellence in architecture, and it was featured on the cover of the Winter 2003 issue of their magazine, Architecture DC.
The architects, led by Robert Sponseller of Shalom Baranes Associates, designed the building to represent life in a Nigerian village. It features individual buildings build concentrically around a central courtyard, beneath a common roof.
