As one of NAS Lemoore's Child and Youth Programs (CYP) training and curriculum specialist, Mrs. Karla Clott is intimately aware that our installation's most precious commodity is the future of tomorrow represented by the children of our Navy, joint service, and civilian/contractor families. Thank you Karla for your vigilant eyes and for helping nurture these special children.

Today is #GiveKidsASmileDay and we are recognizing all of our #NavyInstallation Child and Youth Program personnel, who make it their job to give military children a smile every single day! This year more than ever, those teams put themselves at risk to ensure the Navy was able to make mission.

Now that does not mean the rest of us are off the hook today - If you have an opportunity, give a kid a smile today! Hopefully it’s not too much longer before we can start seeing all those smiles under the mask. #InThisTogether

WSU Extension Spokane County 4-H is sponsoring a 1 hour workshop for military families on completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It is not too late to be planning for student aid for high school seniors intending to attend a post-secondary institution in 2021. And it's certainly not too early for parents of students graduating in 2022, to begin planning for their successful entrance into a college or university in 2022.

This workshop is designed to empower our military families to take advantage of the myriad of opportunities for support using the FAFSA as a starting point. This workshop is scheduled for February 17, at 6:00 pm PST. Registration is free at https://4hfafsaworkshop.eventbrite.com. #4H #FAFSA

In the Navy, spouses serve too. They sacrifice time with their loved ones, whether due to deployment or PCS relocation. They put their careers second to their Sailor’s and often shoulder the responsibilities of parenting alone while reassuring the kids dad or mom will be home soon.

So, to the Navy spouses who keep the lives of our Sailors anchored at home, thank you for your service.

COVID-19 mRNA vaccines teach our cells how to make a piece of a protein to trigger an immune response and build immunity to the virus that causes COVID-19. mRNA does not affect or interact with a person’s DNA, and the cell breaks down and gets rid of the mRNA as soon as it is finished using these instructions. #sinkCOVID

https://www.facebook.com/1408609765909965/posts/2464213527016245/?d=n What a great day with Kristen Ferullo, School Liaison Officer at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard CYP. We held an SeaPerch build with our Homeschool families. Over the course the day our students learned how to use basic hand tools safely, construct a solid frame, water proof motors, soldering a remote control box and electrical trouble shooting. At the end of the day the students were able to test their ROVs out in the field. Bravo Zulu to our amazing SLO.
Hello, we have tried to call and send emails regarding our childcare subsidy application, which has been in review for over a month. Paying for full time childcare out of pocket is seriously stressing our family finances. We were told we would have an answer within a month's time and we have not heard a single thing. We would greatly appreciate someone reaching out to us to provide a working phone number or email so we can pursue an update regarding our application.
Preschoolers from Sasebo’s Main Base and Hario CDC’s met up with the preschoolers from the Hino-hoikuen today at Nimitz Park. They enjoyed a fall festival that included opening songs in english and Japanese, sack races, a cookie walk, crafts, Halloween tattoos, bubbles, and bouncy houses. After all that fun, sandwiches and fruit was served to all. It was great to see all the children enjoying the event and making new friends! Thank you to Ms. Heather, Ms. LeKesha,Ms. Mika, and Ms. Yukiko and all the other CYP staff for your planning and fun ideas that made this event a huge success.
