Take a moment for silent reflection.

Remembering the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001.

- The National 9/11 Memorial in Manhattan, NY - honoring the 2,977 people killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center site, near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon, as well as the six people killed in the World Trade Center bombing on February 26, 1993. The pools represent “absence made visible.”

- The Pentagon 9/11 Memorial - captures a specific moment in time - 9:37 a.m. on Sept. 11, 2001, when American Airlines Flight 77 was hijacked and crashed into the Pentagon, killing all 64 people on the plane and 125 people in the Pentagon. 184 benches for the 184 lives lost.

- The Tower of Voices - serves as both a visual and audible reminder of the heroism of the forty passengers and crew of United Flight 93.

These memorials stand in their place. To remind. To honor. #NeverForget

https://www.facebook.com/1408609765909965/posts/2464213527016245/?d=n What a great day with Kristen Ferullo, School Liaison Officer at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard CYP. We held an SeaPerch build with our Homeschool families. Over the course the day our students learned how to use basic hand tools safely, construct a solid frame, water proof motors, soldering a remote control box and electrical trouble shooting. At the end of the day the students were able to test their ROVs out in the field. Bravo Zulu to our amazing SLO.
Hello, we have tried to call and send emails regarding our childcare subsidy application, which has been in review for over a month. Paying for full time childcare out of pocket is seriously stressing our family finances. We were told we would have an answer within a month's time and we have not heard a single thing. We would greatly appreciate someone reaching out to us to provide a working phone number or email so we can pursue an update regarding our application.
Preschoolers from Sasebo’s Main Base and Hario CDC’s met up with the preschoolers from the Hino-hoikuen today at Nimitz Park. They enjoyed a fall festival that included opening songs in english and Japanese, sack races, a cookie walk, crafts, Halloween tattoos, bubbles, and bouncy houses. After all that fun, sandwiches and fruit was served to all. It was great to see all the children enjoying the event and making new friends! Thank you to Ms. Heather, Ms. LeKesha,Ms. Mika, and Ms. Yukiko and all the other CYP staff for your planning and fun ideas that made this event a huge success.
