What is there to do at the Flare?
Exhibitors: Talk to green business, solar companies, agency, and organization exhibitors and booksellers. Learn about products to help you green your home, as well as about other green initiatives in the District.
Workshops and speakers: Learn about your energy choices, cleaner living options and business and job opportunities in DC’s green economy. Meet and network with solar advocates.
Kids activities: Face painting, musical suns, arts and crafts and sun prints!
Demonstrations: See demonstrations of working solar photovoltaic panels, solar thermal systems, solar tracking systems, and sample dishes made from solar cookers.
Solar Homes Tour: Visit state-of-the-art, passive and active solar Empowerhouses on Gault Place, NE designed and built by Parsons School of Design and Habitat, DC for the 2011 Solar Decathlon.
EV Demonstrations: Ride in a Chevy Volt or Nissan Leaf. Chat with the Electric Vehicle Association of Greater Washington and see an EV charging station.
