Si está experimentando dolor o síntomas preocupantes, no retrase la atención que necesita.
Patient safety is always our top priority. We understand, given the current circumstances, you may be reluctant to seek medical assistance from hospitals or emergency departments. Your health and safety is essential. The District’s hospitals encourage you to receive the care you need. Delaying medical treatment could make your health situation worse and impact your ability to recovery. Our hospitals have implemented a number of precautions to ensure a safe environment. The risk for patients contracting the virus is low because of the use of personal protective equipment and isolation practices. In addition, hospitals are requiring the use of masks for all staff, patients and visitors; screening for COVID-19 symptoms at entrances; increasing cleaning protocols, especially in frequently traveled areas; making hand sanitizers more available throughout our hospitals; restricting visitors; and practicing physical distancing of at least six feet apart. It is important for individuals to continue to obtain emergency care in-person when medical attention is needed, especially those with pre-existing or chronic conditions, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other medical conditions that make putting off emergency care especially risky. We are ready and waiting to provide the care you need, when you need it.
The District of Columbia Hospital Association thanks all of the health care workers and frontline responders for their heroism during COVID-19. We are so proud of their commitment to take care of us-no matter what.
