Speaking of the police officers who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe...

Just before the holidays, we were honored to recognize the heroic actions of two of NSAW's own.

Cpl. Derrick Wiggins and Lt. Daniel Carter took immediate action to intercept a wrong-way driver on a busy highway near base. Their fast and professional response prevented a dangerous situation from potentially becoming a tragedy.

In recognition of their actions, NSAW's CO presented the federal police officers with the Civilian Service Achievement Medal.

BRAVO ZULU, Cpl. Wiggins and Lt. Carter!

NSAW COMREL, embodying this season’s spirit of giving! ☃️📦💫

The command religious ministry team has organized two volunteer opportunities at Capital Area Food Bank during the Thanksgiving- and winter-holiday seasons. In one afternoon, the group of Sailors and civilians packed more than 1,000 meal boxes for families facing food insecurity.

Giving back to our community is a year-round mission! We’re looking forward to our next COMREL engagement in January.

I'm furious as to why it took over an hour just to get out of parking garage 405? Why isn't something being done about this? People were blatantly driving down the up ramps like selfish pigs with no concern for the law or for others who have been patiently waiting. This just added an hour and a half to my already 2+ hr commute. Something has to be done. I come in early to leave early only to have MY time stolen by selfish individuals. And finally exiting to the O street gate and some brain surgeon just directed me to the N street gate adding even more delay to get on 295 while I now wait for everyone exiting that parking garage! Just brilliant. 1 Hr and 20 minutes and not even off base and there's no accident off base. Someone needs to be fired.Maybe it's me. I'm in the locator. Bob Cavalcante Jr. GSCS (SW) Ret.
