Tarrant County commissioners are proposing to cut polling locations by 44% from the last midterm elections. That means longer lines, farther travel, and fewer options for voters - hitting communities of color hardest.

Commissioners should vote NO on this proposal.

A vote Tuesday could cut election day polling sites from 316 to 176 and reduce early voting sites from 50 to 42 ahead of the November 2026 midterms.

The right to vote was never simply given — it was fought for by generations of Americans who believed every voice matters.

I’m proud to introduce “The Long Arc,” a new series exploring the history, sacrifices, and ongoing fight to protect voting rights in America.
From Reconstruction to the Civil Rights Movement to today, this story reminds us that democracy requires courage, civic participation, and an unyielding hope of a better tomorrow.

Juneteenth is a reminder that freedom is worth celebrating.

Today, we honor the courage, resilience, and achievements of those who paved the way toward a more just and equitable America. We also recognize Ms. Opal, a dear friend and partner in the fight for justice, whose advocacy and leadership continue to inspire us.

Happy Juneteenth. 🇺🇸

Through the Stop Six Choice Neighborhood Initiative, more than 300 housing units will be built, contributing to a broader vision that includes approximately 1,000 mixed-income housing units and 12,000 square feet of commercial space. This investment will help create new opportunities for residents while strengthening the future of the community. Proud to support the neighborhood I call home and to honor the people who make this community so special.
