For nearly 30 years, VetFran has served as the bridge between the veterans and franchise communities. Our program was born out of the desire of the late Don Dwyer Sr. - founder of The Dwyer Group - to say “thank you” to our veterans returning from the first Gulf War. After the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, IFA re-launched its campaign to assist U.S. veterans, partnering with the White House on a major employment initiative called Operation Enduring Opportunity.
Today, IFA’s VetFran program teaches veterans about entrepreneurship and helps them connect with franchise opportunities at nearly 600 companies. These member companies offer financial incentives and other benefits to prospective veteran franchise owners and make being veteran-friendly and veteran-ready a core part of their values. Thousands of veterans have become franchise owners through the VetFran Program, and we are proud to continue to serve as a gateway to small-business ownership for our nation’s heroes. For more information on IFA’s VetFran program and how you can get involved, go to www.vetfran.org. VetFran is part of the IFA Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 non-profit.
