⭐ EPA Employee Spotlight ⭐

Meet Kate Latham, a Section Supervisor in U.S. EPA Great Lakes Region!

Kate embodies the agency’s mission to advance cooperative federalism by collaborating with state partners to finance water infrastructure projects throughout the Great Lakes region. With a focus on training and knowledge transfer, Kate and her team's work provide clean and more affordable drinking water for countless Americans. She believes she has the best team in the agency!

Fun fact: During graduate school, Kate worked as event security at an outdoor music venue. She got to hear a lot of great shows, but didn't exactly "see" them with her back to the stage.

Thank you for making a difference at EPA and beyond!

⭐ EPA Employee Spotlight ⭐

Meet Steven Gavin, an Assistant Regional Counsel in Region 3!

Having grown up a short distance from a Superfund site just outside of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Steve feels particularly grateful to be on the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) team in his home region. He considers it a great privilege and is excited to work each day on the subject matter to protect human health and the environment along with his colleagues.

In his spare time, Steven teaches skiing, maintains a large vegetable garden, carves dried gourds into lamps, goes on hikes and practices meditation.

Thank you for making a difference at EPA and beyond!
