I came to Congress to be a workhorse, not a show pony. That work comes with cookie cake thanks to each time we pass a bill.

Five of my bills have now passed the House, with three more major priorities advancing this week.

That puts my office in the top three most productive freshman offices in the 119th Congress.

Fraud in our child care programs is a serious fiscal problem for this nation. But it’s also a clear moral failure that should trouble everyone, Republican and Democrat alike.

As a physician, I was trained to look beyond symptoms and identify root causes. When something isn’t working, the answer isn’t to keep repeating the same approach. It’s to find what’s causing the problem and address it at its source.

The fraud draining our child care programs is evidence of a system that has gone too long without sufficient accountability and oversight.
