A Look into Christmas for Refugees in Lebanon - Religious Freedom Coalition

Christian children in Lebanon were able to experience the true meaning of Christmas in a unique way in 2020. Read about one particular event in the article below:

Due to current times, Facebook has not allowed us to boost our posts for many to see. We encourage you to share if you feel called to continue spreading awareness of our ministry and cause!

At one event in Lebanon, children were greeted by costumed characters, making them feel like they had just arrived in Disney world. Then they heard a story as they watched a woman make candy canes. The children were told how the different colors of the candy can represented different aspects of the....

These children sang worship songs, participated in a Bible recitation contest, played games, and enjoyed a delicious warm meal. The Christian children of Syria are suffering, not only those facing jihadists, but those that are in deep poverty in Lebanon. What happened? The programs I began in the Middle East were designed not only to help the beleaguered Christians materially but most importantly -- spiritually.

Giving Tuesday - Religious Freedom Coalition

Meet Blessing, a child at a Christian orphanage we support in Plateau State Nigeria. Blessing and so many children like her have lost parents from attacks by Muslim terror groups solely for the fact they are Christians. Religious persecution in Nigeria is worse than ever before!

Every year on Giving Tuesday, after days of giving thanks and shopping for deals, we are encouraged to give to charities and organizations who are working diligently to help others. This year, the Religious Freedom Coalition is working to help provide protein-based meals to every child in this Christian orphanage in Nigeria which has selflessly opened its doors to hundreds of children and is only able to provide them with two small meals of gruel every day. Learn more about how you can help children like Blessing by visiting www.ProteinForNigeria.com.

Christmas for Refugees Events Begin - Religious Freedom Coalition

Christmas for Refugees events have begun in Lebanon! Take a look at how we are holding safe events for the children this year through the article below.

Because of COVID-19, more Christmas events held this year in Lebanon for children than in the rest of the Middle East because the events will be smaller. In most instances children will walk through one at a time indoors, but because of local rules, some will be held outdoors.

Giving Tuesday - Religious Freedom Coalition

Christians in Nigeria are facing greater persecution than ever before. A Nigerian orphanage we support has selflessly opened its doors to children who have lost their parents from attacks by Muslim terror groups. However, this orphanage was only able to supply the children with gruel twice a day and protein on special occasions. In 2019, the Religious Freedom Coalition began providing protein-based meals to the children every day. The COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult to acquire the necessary funds to continue this program in 2021.

Giving Tuesday is quickly approaching! This year, we desperately need your help to continue providing these Christian children with protein-based meals. All donations given between now and the end of December 1st through the link below will count towards our Giving Tuesday totals!

Over the last few months, the Religious Freedom Coalition supporters provided the funds needed to feed 60 Christian families in Lebanon who were impacted by the Beirut explosion. There is room to help even more families... learn about their situation and how you can help in this article:

Pakistan Kidnapping Nightmare - Religious Freedom Coalition

A growing number of virgin Christian girls are being kidnapped and forced to convert to Islam and enter forced marriages in Pakistan. We signed onto a letter of grievance to Chief Minister of Sindh asking that he order the law to be upheld and have a recent kidnapped girl be released from the illegal marriage and returned to her parents. Learn more here:

Last month I reported on Maria Shahbaz, a 14-year-old Christian girl in Pakistan who was abducted and forced to “marry” a Muslim man. This is not an isolated case!

Celebrating a small harvest at an orphanage we support in Nigeria! Last year, the Religious Freedom Coalition supplied the funds for a Christian orphanage in Nigeria to rent the land and buy the necessary materials to begin a farm. This farm produces various crops that feed the children and also gives them an opportunity for a lesson of self-responsibility as they work on and tend to the crops. We are very pleased with the success of the farm for the second year! Learn more about our work in Nigeria and the heavy persecution Christians at https://religiousfreedomcoalition.org/.

Helping persecuted Christians in the Middle East

The Religious Freedom Coalition operates programs in nations such as Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon to assist Christians who have been forced from their homes by radical Sunni Muslim groups such as the Islamic State, al-Nusra and al-Qaeda. Working with native ministries, the Religious Freedom Coalition funds the Diapers for Refugees and Christmas for Refugees programs. Assistance is also given to feeding programs and such specialty missions as summer camps for Christian children.

Recently programs have been expanded to help Christian in Nigeria who have been pushed from their villages. An orphanage in Plateau State just received funding for a new well and water tower from the Religious Freedom Coalition.

I am really excited to see my essay on “Empowering Local Voices: Using Community-Led Approaches to Prevent Violent Extremism” is now live! Please take a moment to hear from voices in Kenya and Nigeria, on their experiences working with religious leaders to prevent extremism. A big THANK YOU to the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change for making this possible.
