2021 Christmas For Refugees Match - Religious Freedom Coalition

Happy #GivingTuesday! Giving Tuesday comes around each year after a full weekend of thanks and sales. This year for Giving Tuesday we ask for your help in providing Christmas celebrations for Christian Refugees in the Middle East and Nigeria. Many of these children come from families who fled their homes due to religious persecution and are unable to have real Christmas celebrations. These events not only provide fun, Christ-centered entertainment, but every child is sent home with material goods for their families! Also, today is the LAST DAY for your donation to be doubled! Click the link below to donate today! #GivingTuesday2021

Making the new orphanage home! Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the supporters of the Religious Freedom Coalition, we have been able to provide playground equipment and a new transportation van in addition to many other material needs. The original orphanage was attacked and burned down back in August by Fulani Herdsmen. This new, safer home has been a blessing after so many things were lost. However, there is still work to be done! Learn how you can help at www.NigeriaChristianHelp.org

Christmas for Refugees - Donations Doubled! - Religious Freedom Coalition

Right now, every gift to Christmas for Refugees is being doubled by the Matching Gift Fund set up by the Leadership Circle. Our goal is to provide a real Christmas for 12,500 displaced Christian children, many of them from war torn Syria! Check out this article to learn more:

Right now, every gift to Christmas for Refugees is being doubled by the Matching Gift Fund set up by the Leadership Circle. We must raise $140,000 in smaller donations to receive the entire matching gift fund. That would give us $280,000 toward the budget to provide a real Christmas for 12,500 displ...

September 11, 2001. We will never forget.
On the morning of September 11, 2001 Religious Freedom Coalition President, William J. Murray, was on his way to Washington, DC to participate in the Sudan Peace Act press conference. When he heard the news on the radio about the first plane crash, he knew it was not an accident. Once news came that a second plane hit, he made an immediate call to the White House. He would also just be passing the Pentagon when American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the building.
On the first anniversary of these attacks, William J. Murray expressed his personal experience on this horrific day and his perspective on the events one year later. Click the link below to read this article from September 2002.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the Christian orphanage we support in Plateau State, Nigeria was attacked and destroyed by Muslim Fulani Herdsmen during the night of August 2nd, 2021. Thankfully, all of the staff and children managed to evacuate before the attack began. The orphanage is left uninhabitable and the children remain dispersed. Please watch this video from the desk of RFC President, William J. Murray in Washington, D.C. as he explains the current situation and the huge need there is for your help.

Helping persecuted Christians in the Middle East

The Religious Freedom Coalition operates programs in nations such as Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon to assist Christians who have been forced from their homes by radical Sunni Muslim groups such as the Islamic State, al-Nusra and al-Qaeda. Working with native ministries, the Religious Freedom Coalition funds the Diapers for Refugees and Christmas for Refugees programs. Assistance is also given to feeding programs and such specialty missions as summer camps for Christian children.

Recently programs have been expanded to help Christian in Nigeria who have been pushed from their villages. An orphanage in Plateau State just received funding for a new well and water tower from the Religious Freedom Coalition.

God bless the Christians in Nigeria, and the children, especially at Christmas in 2020
I am really excited to see my essay on “Empowering Local Voices: Using Community-Led Approaches to Prevent Violent Extremism” is now live! Please take a moment to hear from voices in Kenya and Nigeria, on their experiences working with religious leaders to prevent extremism. A big THANK YOU to the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change for making this possible.
I live in Wisconsin and our governor Tony Evers has cancelled Easter services for all of Wisconsin. Please join us in fighting to save our religious freedom!
