People are in need of new innovation because the regular housing resources to are charging far too much. Especially if income is not going to be able to change so those that really need good housing can afford to rent them.

Inside the first-ever Innovative Housing Showcase at our nation's front lawn. To our delight, the THOWs were incredibly well-received with bi-partisan support. Other show highlights included a reimagined shipping container house to an expandable, stackable building system.
HUGE thanks to Secretary Ben Carson and the Innovative Housing Showcase for having us and including tiny homes in this important conversation about quality, affordable housing solutions! ☺️🙏🏡 Next Thursday, 6/13, we’ll release our full interview with the Secretary and many other wonderful highlights from the event— coming to our YouTube channel.

The event generated much positive press and worthwhile conversations about tiny house benefits and obstacles, like out-dated restrictive regulations and financing. It was heartwarming to see a mix of policymakers, congress-members (on both sides of the aisle), financial regulators, industry professionals, etc., come together over common ground of providing more Americans with homeownership opportunities. HUD outlined one of their goals as trying to education state and local governments on options they should review and ways to work together to over obstacles, with help from the private sector. We are not naive that this event will directly solve local issues. But we are 💯 certain this national exposure provided an incredibly valuable educational opportunity. It gave tiny housing a new level of legitimization. 👌

Additionally, we so grateful that a diverse group of tiny home dwellers, builders, and grassroots advocates were able to participate to share a realistic look at what's happening around the country within the tiny house movement. 🏡🇺🇸

Our kudos and thanks to Elizabeth Singleton on for her persistent dedication in relationship building with HUD over the last year! This led to a more well-rounded tiny house discussion at this event. The Secretary visited her organization’s THOW at least 7x, often bringing press films crews with him. 🇺🇸
