The NAHJ’s election is going on now! There are several board seats and bylaw amendments in the ballot. Now is your chance to help Susie the future of the organization.
Ojo @NAHJ members. A bylaws amendment requires that we reach a quorum of one-third of our eligible voters (regular and academic members) in this election. To reach that threshold, approximately 550 of NAHJ's eligible voters must vote.
Of those votes cast, two thirds must vote in favor of an amendment for that amendment to be approved. That is a high bar established to ensure that most members agree when changing the bylaws.
So far, 240 votes have been cast — but we must keep that momentum going — to more than double it. We have until Friday at 8 p.m. EST to reach the quorum.
The NAHJ bylaws committee worked tirelessly this summer on these amendments. The NAHJ board scheduled an emergency board meeting last Saturday to place these amendments on the ballot so that our members would have an opportunity to vote on these amendments.
Make sure your voice is heard by casting a vote!
