A DOGgon good job!

We're thrilled to see the tremendous support for the now retired Sgt. 1st Class MWD Nick A400 yesterday as he begins a well-deserved retirement with his handler, Staff Sgt. Justin Peyton, and his family.

After a distinguished career as a Patrol Explosive Detector Dog, including numerous missions and a deployment to Iraq, he’s earned a restful retirement.

Thank you for your service, Nick, and being a testament to the crucial role our play in our missions and our community.

A message from Provost Marshal General Brig. Gen. Sarah Albrycht:

In a time meant for gratitude and togetherness, our hearts in the Military Police Corps are heavy with sorrow.

We reflect today on the young but impactful life of U.S. Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, a 20-year-old MP Soldier who embodied the commitment of the West Virginia National Guard’s 863rd Military Police Company. She answered the call to serve our nation in 2023, and now we grieve her tragic passing.

Every call, every stop, and every assignment is a solemn reminder of the potential danger MPs face serving our purpose—Assist, Protect, and Defend. Spc. Beckstrom lived that purpose with unwavering devotion. She pledged her life to safeguarding others, choosing to be a protector, a helper, and a servant to her community and her nation.

Today, we honor her not only for her sacrifice, but for the life she lived in service, and for the shield she willingly lifted on behalf of those she would never meet. For that, we owe her a depth of gratitude words can scarcely hold.

The Army Provost Marshal SGM and I send our deepest sympathies to Spc. Beckstrom’s family, friends, and fellow Soldiers of the 863rd Military Police Company. Empowered by her sacrifice and legacy, we continue to Assist. Protect. This we’ll Defend.

A party without cake is just a meeting. 🎂

Provost Marshal General Brig. Gen. Sarah Albrycht hosted an anniversary cake cutting, where she shared her pride in the United States Army Military Police Corps and our rich legacy. She described how MPs have been for the world's greatest force since the American Revolution. Even as we undergo significant transformations across the U.S. Army, our promise remains: protect the force, enable the fight!

Thank you for 84 years of your service, your strength, and your shield.

The U.S. Army officially established its corps on September 26, 1941, although we can boast our traditions of service dating back to the Revolutionary War.

Our diverse duties of law enforcement, security, and quelling disturbances have evolved as temporary units into becoming the premier combat support for the modern joint force. We remain steadfast through our advancement from the marechaussee to a multidomain, multifaceted corps. Our 250+ year legacy highlights our critical role in the U.S. Army, in both peace and wartime.
