We had a great meeting with Abdul El-Sayed, who is running for the U.S. Senate from Michigan.

He has built an impressive grassroots movement and mobilized people across communities. I was especially impressed by his presence, confidence, and ability to connect with people. He carries himself with conviction and has the qualities that inspire people to become involved in the civic process.

This Senate race is drawing significant national attention, and the possibility of historic Muslim representation in the U.S. Senate makes this an especially meaningful moment for our community.

It was a pleasure spending time with Abdul, hearing his vision, and discussing the issues important to our communities. APPAC is proud to stand with leaders who encourage greater civic participation and representation.

Wishing Abdul El-Sayed continued strength and success in the journey ahead. May God bless him and his family.

Pakistan–U.S. Nursing Initiative: A Vision Becoming Reality 🇵🇰🤝🇺🇸

This week, APPAC Foundation and PAK-EEF signed an important MOU to advance our Nursing Initiative and create pathways for qualified Pakistani nurses and healthcare professionals to pursue opportunities in the United States.

This initiative began through APPAC’s efforts and the vision and leadership of New York State Assembly Deputy Speaker Phil Ramos, including our delegations to Pakistan. With the leadership and collaboration of Ms. Syeda Hajra Suhail, that vision is now materializing.

The MOU is only the beginning. Our next step is connecting qualified nurses with hospital systems, recruiters, public and nonprofit hospitals, and real employment opportunities in America.

Our success will be measured not by the MOU we signed, but by the lives and families this initiative changes.

Building bridges between Pakistan and the United States through healthcare, education, and opportunity. 🇵🇰🇺🇸

We at the APPAC , American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee are pleased to welcome the encouraging developments toward peace and de-escalation in the region. We sincerely appreciate the willingness of the leadership of the United States, Donald Donald Trump and the leadership of Iran to respond positively to the call for restraint and dialogue made by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr . Shahbaz Shareef and to show readiness for a ceasefire and meaningful negotiations.

The recent hostilities have resulted in the tragic loss of many lives and have caused immense suffering across the region. Families have endured hardship and uncertainty, while the conflict has also had far-reaching global consequences, including economic instability and growing concerns about disruptions in food supply chains. Such developments highlight the urgent need for diplomacy and constructive engagement to prevent further escalation and restore stability.

APPAC believes that the willingness of all sides to come to the negotiating table reflects wisdom, responsibility, and a shared understanding that lasting peace can only be achieved through dialogue. The decision to pursue negotiations rather than continued confrontation is a hopeful sign for the people of the region and for the international community at large.

We also appreciate the constructive and pivotal role being played by Pakistan in facilitating this important diplomatic effort. Pakistan’s commitment to peace and its willingness to host discussions in Islamabad demonstrates a responsible and statesmanlike approach toward regional stability.

APPAC looks forward to fruitful and sincere negotiations that can lead to an immediate ceasefire and, more importantly, an enduring framework for peace. We hope that these talks will mark the beginning of a new phase of healing, reconciliation, and cooperation, bringing relief to millions who have suffered and paving the way for lasting stability and prosperity in the region.
