Policy over politics. And lucky in love.

Washington, DC is our home, not a military staging ground. 🚨

I joined Guy Lambert on FOX 5’s DC Wrap to speak plainly about why Democratic governors should recall their National Guard troops from the District. DC residents deserve leadership that respects our city, our autonomy, and our right to determine what safety looks like in our own communities.

An open-ended military presence is not the answer. I will continue using my voice to defend Home Rule and demand that Washingtonians receive the same respect and self-determination afforded to people across the country. 🏛️💜

Earlier this week, I had the honor of sitting down with the young women of Harriet’s Wildest Dreams for an honest and meaningful conversation. 💜

Their insight, thoughtfulness, and willingness to engage in dialogue about the issues affecting our communities were truly powerful. I am grateful for the opportunity to listen, ask questions, and hear directly from young people who are deeply connected to the future of our city.

Our young people deserve to be heard, valued, and included in the conversations shaping Washington, DC. 🗣️✨

For 20 years, DC Legendary Musicians, Inc. has preserved the rich musical legacy of our city while creating spaces for healing, culture, and community. 🎶✨

It was an honor to join the celebration of this incredible milestone and support an organization that continues to uplift generations through the power of Afro-Diasporic music, reflection, and fellowship.

Thank you to everyone who made this evening so meaningful. Here’s to honoring our past, celebrating our present, and investing in the future of DC’s vibrant arts community. 💜🎷

🚨Councilmember Robert White Urges Governors to Recall Troops Following America 250!

I, alongside my colleagues, am urging the Governors of Michigan and the U.S. Virgin Islands to recall their National Guard troops from Washington, D.C.

Their service during the July 4th and America 250 celebrations is appreciated, but temporary event support should not become an open-ended military presence in District neighborhoods.

D.C. residents deserve safety, accountability, and local control.

Strong homes build strong communities. 🏘️

The Strengthening Tenant Receivership and Oversight for Neighborhood Growth, or STRONG Homes Amendment Act, is about protecting residents, preserving affordable housing, and making sure families are not pushed out of the neighborhoods they call home.

My bill strengthens the receivership process so the city can act faster to protect tenants and hold negligent landlords accountable.

Thank you for sharing why this bill matters and why we must keep fighting for safe, stable, and affordable housing in DC. 💜

Neighbors, as you know, it has been scorching across the District, and this level of heat is not just uncomfortable — it can be dangerous. ☀️

That is why protections like the Extreme Heat Eviction Protection Amendment Act of 2026 matter. This law prevents evictions from being carried out on days when the National Weather Service predicts temperatures will rise above 95°F. 🏠

No resident should be forced out of their home and onto the street during extreme heat. As we continue through these dangerously hot days, please stay cool, check on your neighbors, and know that these protections are in place to help keep residents safe. 💜

Thank you to CM Janeese Lewis-George for introducing this thoughtful legislation to keep our residents safe!

⚖️ Access to Justice matters for every resident, including returning citizens working to rebuild their lives and stay connected to their communities.

This resident spoke about why legal aid is so important for people facing real challenges and needing real support.

Legal support can help protect rights, restore stability, and give residents a fair chance to move forward. 💜
