"House Republicans know that fueling the future requires an all-of-the-above energy approach. Reliable, affordable energy is not a luxury."

In Washington, you often hear that policy change can’t happen in a divided government. But on energy, House Republicans continue to prove this wrong.

"To make matters worse, Park Service officials told me the administration is short-cutting the National Environmental Policy Act to build migrant camps. NEPA has stood in the way of critical infrastructure projects, forest management to prevent wildfires and domestic energy production. But the Biden administration is attempting to skirt the red tape and silently declare a national emergency for a disaster it created. These actions show that President Biden would rather do anything than secure the border."

"Rooted in bureaucratic inefficiencies, rigid regulations and frivolous litigation, the intensifying cycle of tree deaths and the amplifying intensity of wildfires is eerily similar to the issues we face with California water. Just as politics and partisan divides have too often overshadowed common-sense solutions for our waterways, they’ve also hamstrung our efforts to combat wildfires effectively. Parallels between the bureaucratic obstacles in forest and water management underline the urgent need for streamlined decision-making, especially when it comes to forest management."

Last month Congressman Bruce Westerman led a bipartisan congressional delegation (CODEL) to the Indo-Pacific to hear from leaders about issues facing the region & China's growing influence in the region.

Here's where they traveled:

In Guam, the CODEL met with government officials from different islands to hear about the importance of the U.S. relationship to the region during a field hearing.

The CODEL then traveled to Palau, where they met with President Surangel Whipps Jr. to reinforce the U.S. commitment's to a strong relationship with the nation.

In the Federated States of Micronesia they met with top-ranking officials in the Micronesian government to learn more about the challenges facing the FSM.

Finally, the CODEL was in the Marshall Islands, where they met with President David Kabua and top government officials to discuss the importance of U.S.-RMI relations. Members also spent time with U.S. military members stationed there.

Due to their proximity to the state the CODEL visited Lahaina, Hawaii on the island of Maui to survey the damage from last months devastating wildfires. Members met the Hawaii Congressional Delegation & Governor Josh Green to discuss what the federal government can do for the state.

America can and must do more to curtail Communist Chinese aggression.

This week, I joined the House Committee on Natural Resources in Guam to strengthen and maintain our friendships in the Pacific Islands.

We can have peace, but it requires American strength, a secure border, and energy independence. 🇺🇸🇬🇺

Today, I was pleased to see the passage of H.R. 4141, the "Broadband for Americans through Responsible Streamlining Act" (BARS Act) out of the House Committee on Natural Resources. Across the nation, 42 million Americans cannot access broadband. The BARS Act will help expediate review of these projects on federal lands where communication facilities and lines already exist. Expanding broadband access to rural areas will help ensure reliable connectivity, telehealth access, and educational opportunities for Idahoans into the future.
