I'm saddened by the passing of Dolly Parton, a true American icon. Her larger-than-life personality and music gave joy to so many. May her legacy be forever remembered.

August is Family Fun Month, a great opportunity to celebrate the importance of spending quality time with the people we love most.

Here in Eastern North Carolina, there are so many ways for families to enjoy time together. Whether it’s a day at the beach, exploring one of our beautiful parks, visiting a local attraction, enjoying a family meal, or simply spending an afternoon together at home, these moments create memories that last a lifetime.

As the summer winds down and families prepare for a new school year, I hope everyone takes some time this month to put down the phones, step away from the daily routine, and enjoy some quality time with family.

There’s nothing more important than making time for the people we love. Happy Family Fun Month!

Constituent services remain at the heart of what we do. Since coming to Congress in 2019, my office has closed more than 8,000 cases, helping constituents navigate challenges with the federal government and get the assistance they deserve.

If you or someone you know needs help with a federal agency, please don’t hesitate to contact any of my district offices. My team and I are here to serve you and help however we can.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Holly Ridge Mayor Pete Parnian to discuss the priorities and needs of the community.

We also discussed the Community Project Funding I secured for Holly Ridge to support important local needs and make an investment in the community.

Local leaders have a firsthand understanding of what their communities need, and conversations like these are important to making sure Eastern North Carolina has a strong voice in Washington.

I appreciate Mayor Parnian taking the time to meet with me and share his perspective. I look forward to continuing to work together to support Holly Ridge and deliver results for communities across our district.

I joined families, veterans, and advocates in Jacksonville for a rally calling for justice for those impacted by the Camp Lejeune water contamination.

For decades, thousands of service members, military families, and civilian employees at Camp Lejeune were unknowingly exposed to contaminated drinking water. These Americans served our country and their families made tremendous sacrifices, and they deserve to have their voices heard.

The Camp Lejeune Justice Act was an important step toward providing accountability and giving those harmed an opportunity to seek justice. But many families are still waiting for the resolution they deserve.

As the Congressman representing Camp Lejeune, I will continue standing with the veterans, service members, and families who have been affected by this contamination. They answered the call to serve our nation, and our government must keep its promise to them.

I appreciate everyone who came together in Jacksonville to keep this issue front and center and to make sure the stories of Camp Lejeune families are never forgotten.

Team Murphy was glad to see three new historical panels unveiled at the Jones County Courthouse as part of the Eastern North Carolina Revolutionary War Trail.

These panels help tell the story of our region and preserve the history of the people and communities who played a role in the American Revolution. The three panels in Jones County are part of a larger collection of 12 panels displayed across Kinston, Lenoir, Duplin, Jones, and Craven counties.

It was great to see Jones County officials, Representative Chris Humphrey’s staff, the New Bern Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard and members, the Jones County Veterans Services Officer, the Jones County America 250 Committee, and local historical preservation groups come together to celebrate this important addition to our community.

Preserving our history gives future generations the opportunity to understand the sacrifices and contributions that helped shape our nation. I’m proud to see communities across Eastern North Carolina coming together to preserve and share that history.

It was a pleasure to spend time with the NAACP in Onslow County to discuss my work in Congress and my commitment to excellent constituent services. I will always fight to lower the cost of living, improve access to affordable healthcare, and ensure our communities are safe.

The NAACP has a storied history fighting for civil rights in the United States, and I appreciate its commitment to ensuring racial discrimination has no place in our nation ever again. We are all created equal by God and united by the principles we hold fast to as Americans. Let us never forget the incredible strides we have taken to form a more perfect union and the work ahead to honor the sacrifices made.

Thank you for having me and for your dedication to our community!

I enjoyed touring Mary Mack’s in Clinton and seeing firsthand how a locally founded Sampson County business has grown into a successful operation serving customers across the country.

Mary Mack’s began in Sampson County in the 1990s as a small Hawaiian shaved ice stand. What started as a local summer business grew into a company that manufactures and distributes shaved ice and snow cone syrups, as well as equipment and supplies for shaved ice, cotton candy, and other concession businesses. Their products are now used by customers across the country.

It was great to tour their Clinton facility, learn more about their production and distribution operations, and hear about how the company continues to grow while keeping its roots here in Sampson County.

Businesses like Mary Mack’s show what is possible when hardworking entrepreneurs take a local idea and build it into something much bigger. I appreciate the entire team for welcoming me and for their continued investment in Clinton and Sampson County.

I enjoyed touring Precision Tool & Stamping in Clinton and seeing firsthand the advanced manufacturing and skilled work taking place right here in Sampson County.

Founded in 1980, Precision Tool & Stamping has grown into a trusted manufacturer providing metal stamping, tool and die, CNC machining, and other capabilities to customers across a variety of industries. Their operation handles everything from designing and building tooling to producing precision parts, while keeping manufacturing jobs and expertise right here in North Carolina.

It was great to see their facility, learn more about the equipment and technology they use, and hear from the team about the opportunities and challenges facing American manufacturers.

Small and locally rooted manufacturers like Precision Tool & Stamping are an important part of the strength of our communities and our economy. I appreciate the team for welcoming me to Clinton and for the work they continue to do to support American manufacturing and the local workforce.
