The loss of power for millions across our Nation needs to be immediately addressed. I joined some of my GOP colleagues in asking President Biden to do what he can to help those impacted and to stress the importance of having baseload power.

Plain Talk With Rob Port: 201: "If you want a three-minute Fox hit, it's a great place to be"

Today I talked with Rob Port on Plain Talk about the importance of having a reliable electric grid. We need to keep having these conversations to make sure our grid can handle surges in demand and we have the baseload power sources necessary.

"The policies surrounding renewable energies was a huge part of this problem," Congressman Kelly Armstrong said on this episode of Plain Talk. The "problem" in question are the power outages that have recently plagued Texas and a vast swath of the middle of America. For Armstrong, it illustrates not...

The Democrats' rushed, COVID "relief" bill is a partisan wishlist. It includes:

❌A job killing minimum wage hike
❌Benefits for illegal immigrants
❌$350 billion for blue state bailouts
❌$129 billion to schools, without a plan to reopen
❌$15 billion to push towards Medicare for All

The American people deserve targeted and meaningful relief.

The CDC has said it is safe to reopen our schools. Schools in North Dakota have shown how we can reopen safely.

We can’t let our students fall behind.

The loss of in-person learning has resulted in significant negative consequences for some of our nation’s most vulnerable children.

This afternoon I met with US Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District Commander, Colonel Mark Himes in Bismarck to discuss multiple projects important to North Dakota. The Army Corps oversees many existing and pending projects in our state and I shared how I am willing to work together to get needed infrastructure projects across the finish line. We must find ways to streamline the permitting process, like the FAST Act I introduced last congress which would pave a clear path to getting projects permitted so we can construct needed infrastructure.

Rep. Armstrong Talks Electrical Grid Reliability on Fox Business Evening Edit

We need to have a resilient and reliable electric grid, and the current situation in Texas and across the country is exposing fatal flaws in our systems.

Renewable energy has a place, but we have to include reliable baseload power like natural gas and coal in our energy systems. We cannot afford to make the same dangerous mistakes places like California and Germany have made in cutting out reliable baseload power.

Congressman Armstrong Introduces Legislation to Streamline Permitting for Broadband Infrastructure on Federal Lands

The pandemic has proven that access to reliable broadband infrastructure is essential for thousands of North Dakotans across the state.

In North Dakota, broadband infrastructure often crosses federal lands, requiring federal permits, which can take years to achieve and prevent many rural and tribal communities from getting the broadband access they need.

This bill would streamline the permitting process and make it easier for communities to increase connectivity.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Kelly Armstrong (R-ND) introduced the Enhancing Administrative Reviews for Broadband Deployment Act, which would require a study on barriers to reviewing requests within federal agencies to deploy broadband infrastructure on federal lands.

Opinion | A Deep Green Freeze

"Yet the power grid is becoming less reliable due to growing reliance on wind and solar, which can’t provide power 24 hours a day, seven days a week."

Attacks on reliable fossil fuel energy have led to blackouts in North Dakota and 13 other states. This is unacceptable.

Power shortages show the folly of eliminating natural gas—and coal.

Armstrong Offers Amendment in House E&C to Authorize Construction and Operation of Keystone XL

Thousands have lost their jobs during the pandemic, and Congress should support efforts to get Americans back to work.

Today I introduced an amendment in Energy & Commerce Committee Republicans that would authorize the Keystone XL Pipeline and bring more than 11k jobs.

The Keystone XL Pipeline will:

- Help rebuild communities devastated by shutdowns
- Restore revenue certainty to local governments
- Provide thousands of American jobs

We must put aside partisan politics and support commonsense projects to rebuild our economy.

I joined the Energy & Commerce Committee Republicans in writing a letter to Chairman Pallone about the Democrats' rushed and partisan COVID relief package. If passed, this will be the first COVID relief package crafted and passed without bipartisan support.

Congress has already appropriated more than $4 trillion, and there is still $1.1 trillion sitting unspent in DC. We need to make sure targeted relief gets to real Americans and not push through a bill that looks more like a Democrat wish list.

5 years ago North Dakota lost a hero. We will not forget the memory of Officer Moszer. Thank you to our law enforcement for everything they do in our communities, putting their lives on the line to uphold their duty.

Fargo Officer Jason Moszer was shot and killed in 2016 by a man during a standoff after he and others responded to a domestic dispute. His widow, since remarried, prefers to focus on how he lived, not how he died.

I am thankful for the Capitol Police officers and National Guard members who are working around the clock to keep our Nation's Capitol safe.

One of the greatest things about our democracy is the public's access to the People's House, and we need to do everything we can to maintain that accessibility while ensuring security.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The acting chief of Capitol police is calling for vast improvements to the building’s physical security. They say police failed in their efforts to secure the Capitol during the January 6 attack. “These tall fences topped with barbed wire surround the entire Capitol complex....

Armstrong: President Biden’s first actions are a direct assault on North Dakota | INFORUM

President Biden's decisions will devastate North Dakota’s energy industry.

Our economy and way of life are at stake.

Energy producing states need to do everything in our power to challenge these executive actions and fight for policies that help move our Nation forward.

Read my full op-ed in the Fargo Forum below.

During his first two weeks in office, President Biden signed an unprecedented 42 executive actions, many of which are a direct assault on thousands of jobs in North Dakota’s oil and gas industry.

Hoeven & Armstrong discuss importance of Keystone XL after President stopped it - KVRR Local News

Congressman Armstrong on Scams During COVID-19

Today, I participated in my first Consumer Protection and Commerce subcommittee hearing as a part of the Energy and Commerce Committee.

We discussed COVID-19 related fraud & scams and steps Americans can take to defend against them. It is important to spread information about potential scams. North Dakota's Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has done a great job of making sure consumers have the information they need.

My story

I’m a lifelong, devoted North Dakotan and a tireless advocate for making North Dakota a better place to live and work.

I’m an avid outdoorsman, a big fan of baseball and a frequent volunteer in my community. Fortunately, I’ve found ways to combine all three in coaching boys’ baseball and girls’ softball, volunteer firefighting and leading the Dickinson Baseball club.

I was elected to represent North Dakota in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018 and took the oath of office on January 3, 2019. Before that, I served in the North Dakota State Senate for District 36 and as chairman of the North Dakota Republican Party.

In Congress, I’m working to protect the livelihood of farmers and ranchers, unleash North Dakota’s full energy potential and ensure North Dakota’s voice is heard.
