The Hunt Fish 250 initiative honors our country’s outdoor heritage and calls attention to something just as important: these freedoms don’t protect themselves. Victory for Conservation & America’s Sporting Traditions

Oregon’s extreme Initiative Petition 28 (IP 28), also known as the PEACE Act, has officially ❌failed❌ to qualify for the November 2026 ballot.

This Petition threatened to criminalize lawful hunting, fishing, trapping, livestock production, and science-based wildlife management practices—putting decades of conservation success at risk.

For years, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation has worked alongside conservation, sporting, and agricultural partners to oppose every iteration of this proposal.

Today’s outcome is a win for hunters, anglers, trappers, farmers, ranchers, and everyone who believes in the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation.

While we celebrate this victory, our work doesn’t stop here. CSF remains committed to defending our sporting traditions and ensuring wildlife policy continues to be guided by sound science - not emotion.

Breaking News: The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission is NOT moving forward with rulemaking on a proposed ban on the commercial sale, barter, or trade of pelts, hides, and associated products from wild furbearers taken in Colorado.

The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting America’s sporting heritage, including lawful trapping as a vital wildlife management and property protection tool.

For decades, hunters, anglers, recreational shooters, and outdoor enthusiasts have benefited from bipartisan leadership that recognizes a simple truth: conservation and access to the outdoors are shared priorities, not partisan ones.

🎣🦌 Did you know that every time you purchase a hunting license, fishing license, firearm, or ammunition, you're helping fund conservation across America?

For decades, sportsmen and women have been the backbone of wildlife conservation through the American System of Conservation Funding.

Revenue generated through hunting and fishing licenses, along with excise taxes collected through the Pittman-Robertson and Dingell-Johnson Acts, has contributed billions of dollars to wildlife management, habitat restoration, public access, hunter education, boating access, and fisheries conservation.

The results speak for themselves. Many of the wildlife species and outdoor opportunities we enjoy today exist because generations of hunters and anglers invested directly in conservation.

Conservation isn't just supported by sportsmen and women: it is driven by them.
