The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s (RWJF) signature research program, Health Data for Action: Leveraging Health Data for Actionable Insights (HD4A), aims to reduce the barriers often faced in accessing valuable data by serving as a bridge between data owners and interested researchers. Through the HD4A Call for Proposals, managed by AcademyHealth, RWJF will make data from eight data owners available to successful applicants looking to conduct important, policy-related research. He is the Senior Medical Advisor of Geriatrics & Extended Care for the Department of Veterans Affairs. In his current role, he focuses on four domains: Geriatric Emergency Medicine collaboration to transform urgent and emergent care of complex older adults; guiding VA to become the largest integrated Age Friendly Health System, Expanding the healthcare workforce of all disciplines with geriatrics expertise, and a leadership role in VA’s Electronic Health Record Modernization.
