Stress, worry, sadness, anger and other emotions are all a normal part of life. However, when these feelings run high for extended periods, they can be overwhelming and interfere with a person’s ability to carry out everyday tasks.

Our latest research with Hologic finds that around the world, about four in 10 women experienced worry and stress during a lot of the previous day, three in 10 experienced sadness and one in four experienced anger. These emotions were rising before 2020, but the pandemic exacerbated them — exacting an even bigger toll on women’s health. Furthermore, women are much more likely than men to feel these negative emotions.

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Secretary of State Antony Blinken eclipse other top federal government leaders in job approval from Americans, but none scores higher than 48%.

None of the top elected or appointed officials in the federal government today earns even bare majority approval ratings from the American public, with the highest, 48%, earned by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts.

One in four Israeli adults currently support the existence of an independent Palestinian state, while most (65%) oppose it. This is almost a complete reversal of where they stood on the issue a decade ago, when twice as many Israeli adults supported an independent Palestinian state (61%) as opposed one (30%).

As the Israel-Hamas war continues, Gallup surveys show hopes for a two-state solution and peace are further out of reach, as Israelis experience record-high worry, stress and sadness.
