For four years, I have fought against the Biden-Harris Administration’s suggested elimination of stepped-up basis and inclusion of the farm killer tax in its annual budget proposal.

It’s remarkable how out of touch the Administration is when it says it’s for small businesses, yet year after year proposes doing away with the number one estate tax provision that helps them. It makes no sense.

Another month brings another report of failed Biden-Harris Administration economic policies. America cannot afford four more years of skyrocketing inflation and limitless spending. House Republicans are fighting for an economy that works for all Americans.

Ahead of a key Federal Reserve meeting to set interest rates, employers added 142,000 jobs in August, fewer than economists had expected, and previous months were revised downward.

America needs a Farm Bill now. We cannot let the Farm Bill become another political game in Washington. Family farmers’, ranchers’, and agricultural producers’ livelihoods are at stake.

Our veterans put their lives on the line to protect our freedom.

Our support of our military service members cannot end when they remove their uniform. That’s why I supported a cost-of-living adjustment for our nation’s veterans and the more than 41,000 veterans living in the Big First.

We need to make sure our veterans receive the benefits they deserve.

From 1962-1975, “Dustoff” crews, the helicopter and air ambulance teams during the Vietnam War, were responsible for transporting 900,000 U.S. causalities.

These brave U.S. soldiers had a one in three chance of being wounded or killed during these operations.

Today, I voted to award these crews a Congressional Gold Medal in honor of their heroic military service.

Thank you for your service to our nation.

I am vehemently opposed to any effort by the federal government to seize private land. Senator Jerry Moran and I introduced legislation that will protect the rights of Kansas landowners and prevent the federal government from grabbing our land. Any land given to the federal government for this project should be voluntary, not mandated, and I will never stop fighting to defend that right.

The Biden-Harris border crisis continues to endanger millions of Americans by allowing dangerous substances like fentanyl to flood into our country. Under the Administration’s policies, cartels have been the winners, and innocent children have been the losers.

The right to life is the foundation on which all others are built. As a member of the Values Action Team, I am fighting to protect the lives of those who cannot protect themselves.

I participated in a panel with members of the Kansas Chamber of Commerce during their annual Congressional fly-in. The last thing small businesses need are more rules from Washington, D.C. that make it harder for them to make a living and serve their communities well. Thank you, Kansas Chamber, for your advocacy for small business in the Big First and across the state.

I hope everyone enjoyed another successful year of the Kansas State Fair. My family and I enjoyed seeing familiar and new faces, spending time at our booth, and announcing this year's legislative showmanship competition. Congratulations to all participants! We can’t wait to do it again next year.

I am grateful that President Trump is safe and that no one was harmed in today’s shooting.

Last week, my staff and I visited the Energy Transfer compressor station in Haven. Companies like Energy Transfer are critical in supporting the "all of the above" energy approach that America needs by prioritizing American energy independence.

I will continue to fight against the Biden-Harris Administration as it wages war on fossil fuels, and I will continue to support those who work day in and day out to power the world.

The 1861 Club is an event space on the Kansas State Fairgrounds, with any revenue generated going back into preserving and beautifying buildings and areas on the Kansas State Fairgrounds. I was thankful to be a part of their grand opening in Hutchinson last week.

Join me in congratulating the 1861 Club on their dedication and grand opening.

We must be firm with Communist China-- America is not up for grabs.

We can't let China take our land or take our place in the market place. American tax credits must be used to benefit American producers. That should be a no brainer.

No other nation allows its adversaries to go unchecked in purchasing its property. Neither should America.

I supported legislation to ensure that any transaction of U.S. land from a foreign entity is properly reviewed and does not allow our adversaries like the CCP to put America’s food or national security at risk.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) voted to advance H.R. 9456, the Protecting American Agriculture from Foreign Adversaries Act. The legislation, which passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 269-149, will add the U.S.

Twenty-three years ago, the world watched in horror as nearly 3,000 innocent Americans lost their lives to terrorists who attacked the freedoms that we hold dear. While Al-Qaeda's goal was to divide America, America united to fight for freedom and ensure those responsible were brought to justice.

As we remember the horrific tragedy of September 11, 2001, let us also remember those who have and continue to defend our freedoms, so that we may continue to be one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

98% of American farms and 90% of American businesses are family-owned and operated. Eliminating stepped-up basis hurts agricultural producers and small businesses by weakening the ability to keep generational assets in the family. We must preserve stepped-up basis at all costs.

09/09/2024

When the Biden-Harris Administration was sworn in, they inherited a strong economy from the Trump Administration. However, the Biden-Harris Administration was hyper-focused on massive government spending and expansion. America cannot take another 4 years of Biden-Harris economic policies.

We need a Farm Bill, and we need it now. If we fail to authorize a new Farm Bill that answers the needs of today and not those of six years ago, we put our national security and food security at risk. America cannot afford that.

Thank you, Kansas Farm Bureau for having me at your annual Agricultural Leadership Breakfast this morning.

Agriculture is the heartbeat of the Big First, and our farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers need certainty now more than ever. With 23 days until the current Farm Bill expires, the House and Senate should swiftly consider the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2024 and pass it into law. We need a Farm Bill now.

Our farmers, ranchers, agricultural producers, and consumers are counting on Congress to pass a Farm Bill that empowers them to feed, fuel, and clothe the world. It’s time for Congress to pass a Farm Bill, now.

The Farm Bill expires in fewer than 50 days, and Congress has yet to authorize a new one.

The Big First is home to more than 20,000 small businesses that provide jobs to more than 80% of employees in the Big First. I was honored to be recognized as a 2024 National Retail Federation Hero of Main Street, which recognizes elected officials for their consistent support for the U.S. retail industry through legislative action and leadership.

Small businesses are the backbone of America's economy, and it is a privilege advocating for their success as a member of the House Small Business Committee.

The House Agriculture Committee passed the bipartisan Food, Farm, and National Security Act of 2024 out of committee more than three months ago. Meanwhile, Washington Democrats are playing games, have failed to release their own legislative text, and have taken to the airwaves to spread false information about the House Farm Bill with no solutions or policy proposals of their own.

I understand some members may have their own priorities, but enough is enough. If we fail to pass an updated Farm Bill, both producers’ and consumers’ livelihoods will be put at risk.

We must pass a Farm Bill, now. More in my Op-Ed here:

The Farm Bill expires in fewer than 50 days, and Congress has yet to authorize a new one.

As a Member of Congress, I am honored to nominate students from the Big First District to attend our country’s military service academies. The decision to apply to a service academy is a personal and courageous one, and I am humbled to be a part of the process.

If you, or a student you know, would like more information about attending one of the U.S. service academies, please visit my website.

Simply put, the Biden-Harris Administration's failed trade agenda has been disastrous for farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers in the Big First.

The U.S. agricultural trade deficit is projected to grow to $42.5 billion in the fiscal year that starts Oct. 1, while sales to China extend their slump, providing fresh fuel to ongoing election-season debates about the future of trade policy.
