I voted no on the continuing resolution because it’s just more business as usual. The Biden Administration’s reckless spending has resulted in our country’s national debt skyrocketing to $33 trillion. The last thing we need to do is give that administration another no-limit credit card.

Instead, we should reduce and reprioritize our federal spending, secure the southern border, and end the weaponization of the federal government.

As I look at our nation’s budget, I make decisions based on reducing and reprioritizing government spending, securing our southern border, dealing with the weaponization of the federal government, and delivering on my commitment to the Big First. My votes reflect those priorities.

President Biden’s spending addiction has ballooned our national debt to $33 trillion. His administration’s backwards priorities do not reflect the fundamental values of America, make us more vulnerable at our southern border and to foreign adversaries, and over regulate middle America.

We must reduce and reprioritize government spending, secure our southern border, and deal with the weaponization of our federal government.

We need to get our country back on track.

America is a free country today because of the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes, and the sacrifices made by their families at home. The families of our service members, especially those who laid down their lives defending freedom, deserve our utmost support and recognition. I am honored to cosponsor the Gold Star Family Remembrance Week resolution recognizing the often-unsung American heroes, our Gold Star families.

Local banks support local economies and local communities. The Kansas Bankers Association (KBA) does an exceptional job advocating on behalf of banks in the Big First. I’m grateful for their work and for the invaluable insights they shared on how to maintain and strengthen our state’s economy.

Tonight, President Biden vetoed my lesser prairie-chicken resolution, which would have nullified his administration’s rule listing the Northern Distinct Population Segment of the lesser prairie-chicken as threatened and the Southern Distinct Population Segment as endangered under the Endangered Species Act.

Refusing to listen to Congress is one thing, but refusing to listen to America’s agricultural and energy producers is totally unacceptable. Farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers are the original conservationists, and their voluntary conservation efforts have proven to be effective in supporting the lesser prairie-chicken species population. At a time when record-breaking drought is crushing rural communities, crop production, and native grasslands, we need more rain, not more regulations. I urge my colleagues to band together in overturning President Biden’s shortsighted veto of this joint resolution.

Today, I attended and spoke at the 9th Annual Ag Outlook Forum, co-hosted by Agri-Pulse and the Agricultural Business Council of Kansas City.

I discussed the importance of reauthorizing a strong Farm Bill and the work I’ve been doing to bring Kansas agricultural producers’ voices to the discussion.

Producers are trying to keep their operations afloat in the midst of tremendous uncertainty. We must get this Farm Bill right, and Congress must address the challenges that farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers face. I am fighting for a modern safety net that includes robust crop insurance, strong trade agreements and trade promotion policy, and provides rigorous oversight of an out-of-touch administration that just doesn’t understand farm country.

I'm grateful to receive this year's Association of Equipment Manufacturers Champion of the Industry Award. American manufacturers keep America running, ensure that our infrastructure projects run smoothly, and play a critical role in the success of American agriculture.

I'm proud to work alongside AEM members to advance agricultural and equipment manufacturing priorities that strengthen America.

Each year, non-profit and veteran organizations host U.S. military veterans on trips to Washington, D.C. to visit the very memorials honoring their service and sacrifice.

Earlier this week, I had the privilege of welcoming Kansas Honor Flight 96 to Washington, D.C. It was an honor for me to spend time with them and thank them for their enormous service to our country.

As the representative for the Big First, and as a former member of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, I am proud to advocate on behalf of Kansas veterans in Congress. To all of our veterans - thank you for your service.

The federal government borrows too much money, and it spends too much money.

The Biden Administration and Congressional Democrats' spending addiction has created massive inflation and caused our national debt to climb to nearly $33 trillion. They prioritize spending that is out of touch with what Americans really want and are killing the economy in the process.

Republicans have offered real solutions to fix this mess, and the only thing Washington Democrats have offered is enthusiasm for more reckless spending.

It’s fitting to honor Karl Dawn Hobbs Stover on National Teach Ag Day, as there is no better time to thank her for her tireless commitment to agricultural education, FFA, and shaping the next generation of leaders who will feed, fuel, and clothe the world. Karl Dawn is in her 12th year as an agricultural education instructor and FFA advisor at Ellsworth Junior and Senior High School (EJSHS) and she has recently been named the school’s new career pathways instructor.

Her approach to agricultural education is tailored to the individual needs of her students, and she focuses on leading them through information collecting, lab experiments, and real-life application. The flourishing Ellsworth FFA Chapter is a testament to Karl Dawn’s leadership and expertise. I’m deeply grateful for Karl Dawn’s passion for building up the next generation of agricultural leaders.

Happy National Day! Today, we celebrate the more than 14,500 current and 2,700 future agricultural educators across the United States.

I’ve experienced the positive impact that agricultural educators can have on their students. My own agricultural education teacher and FFA advisor, Keith Bray, taught me to take pride in my work, never cut corners, and always show up prepared. He took a few kids from Quinter, Kansas, and turned us into the 1992 state parliamentary procedure champions. Today, I still use that parliamentary procedure knowledge in Congress.

To celebrate the tireless efforts of agricultural educators in America’s schools and communities, I’m proud to introduce a resolution recognizing today as National Teach Ag Day.

I grew up going to the sale barn, so it was rewarding for me to meet with the Livestock Marketing Association (LMA) this week. LMA represents 80% of the regular-selling livestock markets in America, and they understand the issues impacting the livestock industry, like the need for auctions to be paid promptly and the impacts misguided rulemaking can have on agriculture and rural America.

Thank you, LMA - and especially Kansans Mason Winter and David and Heidi McComb, for the work you do on behalf of the Kansas livestock industry and for meeting with me. It is an honor to represent you in Congress and as the Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee’s Subcommittee on Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry.

Kansas Automobile Dealers Association (KADA) is dedicated to protecting the interests and increasing the value of automotive dealerships throughout the state. I enjoyed meeting with them last week to discuss issues facing dealerships in Kansas, like supply chain disruptions. I proudly cosponsor H.R. 700, the Supply Chain Disruptions Relief Act, which would give dealerships up to three years to replace their inventory from 2020-2021 when the supply chain was facing significant shortages due to the pandemic. Thank you, KADA, for taking the time to meet with me.

Growth Energy is the leading biofuels trade association in the country, and they are working hard to grow America's economy and support American farmers. I was honored to receive their 2023 Fueling Growth Award during our meeting last week. Americans rely on the sacrifices that truck drivers make every day to keep America moving. In the Big First, truck drivers are essential to the agricultural economy, hauling equipment, livestock, and grain to keep America fed. This week, we took time to honor their dedication and thank them for their commitment to ensuring that our goods are delivered safely, securely, and on time. I’m honored to serve on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to advance policies that help truckers.

Happy National Aerospace Week! The Kansas state motto is “Ad Astra Per Aspera,” or “to the stars through difficulty.” This week, we celebrate the American pioneering spirit exemplified in our world-class aerospace technology, and we honor the brave men and women whose sacrifices brought American aerospace to where it is today. It’s exciting to see young people develop an interest in aerospace, and I am especially proud to have the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, where the educational programming and museum collection are second to none. Congress has the sworn duty to hold the executive branch accountable.

The allegations against President Biden suggest abuse of power, obstruction, and corruption, and they warrant further investigation by the House of Representatives. So far, there is evidence of shady foreign business deals involving the President and members of his family, which bank records and the Treasury Department can corroborate. This investigation will bring more facts to light, and the American people deserve to know whether President Biden has been compromised by millions of dollars in foreign bribes.

Fighting for Kansans in the Big First is my top priority as I advocate for agriculture and our conservative Kansas values. That’s why I host a town hall in every county of the district each year to listen to the needs and concerns of residents in every community. I’ve hosted 186 town halls over the past three years, and last month, I completed my third annual 60-county Mann Listening Tour.

I had a great time participating in the State Fair Legislative Showmanship again this year. This annual event gives elected leaders a crash course in showing livestock, under the mentorship of 4-H and FFA members. Thanks to their excellent teaching, we were named this year’s grand champions! It was a privilege learning from Kirbe Koons and Tyree Figge. You both did a great job!

Watching 4-H and FFA members like Kirbe and Tyree showcase their hard work at the fair always leaves me excited for the future of Kansas agriculture. I am wishing all of this year’s participants a fun state fair!

Today, we honor and remember the thousands who were killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Rather than cower in the face of evil, Americans rose from the ashes and stood firm in the fight for freedom, as we always have and always will. Every year, September 11th makes me proud to be an American and to live in a country that will always stand ready to defend liberty, just like the generations of Americans before us.

That is why we will never forget.

Courtney Wages and Joe Nail are making innovative strides in serving their communities. Courtney is Miss Kansas 2023, and she advocates for the blind and visually impaired using her platform “One Vision is Not the Only Vision: Eye See You”. Joe is the CEO and Founder of Lead for America, a non-profit that equips people to be exceptional leaders serving the place they call home - especially rural communities. I enjoyed meeting with Courtney and Joe and learning about their passion for giving back to the communities around them.

On the cover of her book, “Nothing Short of a Miracle,” Lisa Short lists “faith, family, community, and perseverance” beneath the title. These are conservative Kansas values, they are the bedrock of American agriculture, and the Short family are this month’s ag heroes because they embody them.

Life changed for the Short family in 2014 when Zach Short was involved in a farming accident where he was electrocuted and nearly killed. Following the accident, Zach made a miraculous recovery, and their community rallied around them in the special way that only rural communities can. When disaster strikes rural communities, people show up in droves to help finish the harvest. They raise money, provide meals, and pray without ceasing.

The Shorts inspire me to keep fighting every day to defend agriculture and conservative Kansas values because they, and so many other Kansas farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers like them, are the backbone of America. Since their election in June, the 2023-2024 Kansas FFA Association state officers have been traveling the state and nation to meet with stakeholders, attend leadership workshops, and host leadership training for FFA chapter officers.

I especially appreciated hearing their thoughts on the upcoming Farm Bill while they were in Washington, D.C. The next generation deserves a seat at the table when Congress crafts policy. As an alumnus of the Quinter FFA Chapter and the co-founder of the Congressional FFA Caucus, it is a pleasure for me to help bring their voices into these conversations.

The U.S. Supreme Court’s May decision was very clear – the federal government may not use the Clean Water Act to violate the private property rights of American citizens. Now, the Biden Administration has scrambled to tweak their terrible WOTUS rule just enough in an attempt to comply with the Supreme Court’s ruling and solicited zero stakeholder feedback in the process.

I will keep fighting this rule tooth and nail on behalf of the people who feed, fuel, and clothe us all, and also on behalf of all Americans whose businesses and private lives are being affected by this gross example of government overreach.

I enjoyed attending the 2023 Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association (KIOGA) Convention and serving on the congressional panel last week. Thank you to all the members who attended and shared their questions and concerns with me.

I'm committed to fighting against the Biden Administration’s war against American energy producers and demonization of fossil fuels. We need to embrace an "all of the above" energy strategy that prioritizes American energy independence, embraces liquid fuels and renewable energy, and doesn't allow Washington to pick winners and losers.

Rural America faces unprecedented health care challenges, including a nationwide closure crisis. Congress should work to ensure that these vulnerable communities do not lose access to care. I am proud to join my colleagues in introducing the Rural Hospital Technical Assistance Program Act, which would make permanent an existing program at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) that provides technical assistance for rural hospitals to help prevent closures, strengthen essential health care services in rural communities, and improve performance. Programs created through this legislation are vital to ensuring that access to quality care continues, and that rural hospitals succeed.

08/25/2023

In the last four months, President Biden’s U.S. State Department has increased the estimated passport processing time from 6-8 weeks to 10-13 weeks. This is unacceptable. While President Biden is continually finding new ways to waste taxpayer dollars, the federal government is failing to accomplish basic tasks in an efficient way. American taxpayers deserve better. I’ve been working hard to help Kansans in the Big First expedite passport applications, but the Biden Administration is causing unnecessary problems for people.

If your travel dates are closer than 12 weeks away, or if you have been unsuccessful in getting information regarding your application, please call my Dodge City office at (620) 682-7340, or my Manhattan office at (785) 370-7277. My staff and I are ready to assist you.

Illicit fentanyl has tragically stolen numerous lives of kids in Kansas and across the country. This lethal drug is making its way into our schools, and it is imperative that we equip our educational institutions, administrators, and students with awareness about the dangers of illicit fentanyl.

I am committed to protecting our nation’s youth from illicit fentanyl, which is why I cosponsor the Protecting Kids from Fentanyl Act. This legislation would provide training to educational institution’s faculty and staff, offer awareness classes to students, and purchase life-saving medicine to use in the case of an overdose. Drug mules smuggle fentanyl into our country every day, and now Kansans are dying from overdoses in record numbers. The rest of the Kansas delegation and I are raising awareness about this crisis.

We need to equip parents and schools with resources to stop fentanyl disguised as fake pills that look like candy, Xanax, Adderal, and other pharmaceuticals from falling into the hands of young people. Most of all, we need to secure our southern border and cut the drug off at its source, which will protect the lives of Kansans and all Americans.

The Big First District of Kansas leads the country in wheat production and has a long legacy of shaping policy that directly impacts farmers and ranchers. I enjoyed meeting with Kansas Wheat to discuss how the Farm Bill can best support them as they work to beat Mother Nature, deal with inflation, and feed the world.

I am honored to have been named a Wheat Advocate by the National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG) and am thankful to Kansas Wheat for the nomination.

President Biden and his radical district attorney supporters are pulling yet another dangerous political stunt.

This indictment of President Trump is a brazen political tactic. President Biden’s approval rating is tanking and credible information about his family’s corrupt business dealings continues to surface. To distract Americans from his personal failings, President Biden has been using his office to attack Donald Trump, his top political rival. Now, a radical DA in Georgia is following the same playbook with yet another indictment of Donald Trump.

Like I have been saying for months as we have all been watching this play out, the weaponization of the federal government and abuse of power must stop.

Matt and Janna Splitter are the perfect example of hardworking Kansans. In the face of record-high inflation, big government regulation, and extreme weather, they work hard to feed, fuel, and clothe the world.

In June, I highlighted them as my Kansas Ag Heros of the Month, and last month, Matt appeared before the House Small Business Committee to discuss the challenges of rural small businesses. He knows well that misplaced federal regulations can negatively impact agricultural producers and that sometimes, the government just needs to get out of the way.

Farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers know their operations far better than the federal government does, and they deserve a seat at the table when policies impacting their livelihoods are up for discussion.

Legislation that I introduced with Representative Yakym would establish a farmer-led advisory committee at the U.S. Department of Agriculture to bring together real-world experience, share insight into how rules like President Biden’s WOTUS rule negatively impacts agriculture, and offer solutions to eliminate unnecessary red-tape stopping agricultural productivity.

Rep. Mann, please check into H.B. 4505. It is an apprpriations bill that has, as part of it, set aside millions of dollars, our tax money, to attack our rights guaranteed under the 2nd Amendment. Those slick, slimey folks you work with have hidden $90,000,000 to allegedly "combat community violence" but we know it is going to anti 2A groups. They're also trying to pressire/incentivize states with $40,000,000 to implement red flag laws. Then another $10,000,000 for government gun buy back programs. Yeah, use our tax money to buy our own property. Fight for us back here in your district, as well as every other freedom loving American.
Thank you for the time in Colby, Ks yesterday and I hope we can continue to talk moving forward.. It was great to finally meet you in person. I hope you get time to review the information I shared with you yesterday and Katherine when she met with us in D.C. a month ago. The money I talk about that we have lost is real in agriculture/cattle industry. Thanks again and please keep in contact and call if you have any questions on the information I gave you!
GOP reps being denied entry to prison where Jan 6 prisoners being held . What say you sir !
Four of your fellow Congressmen/women were just LOCKED OUT of the federal prison where fellow Americans are being held without due process with regard to their possible involvement in January 6th. Ours is a nation of innocent until proven guilty and Congressmen/women have the right to make sure the rule of law is being followed. Your fellow Congresspeople could use some backup in protecting all rights involved.
There is a serious issue that effects all service members that seek VA disability help. If a service member get a severance pay when the leave the military and later try to get help from the VA and get rated for a disability from the VA the DOD will collect every thing that was not taxable back from the service member by taking all VA disability pay till that sum is repaid. Now i owe DOD 41K that was nontaxable from severance pay that was given to me in 2014 because in 2020 i went to VA for help and was given 80% for service connected and now i will not get VA disability pay till july of 2023. No service member should feel this stress from trying to get help and be told by DOD we dont care we want the money back. I dont blame the VA but i do blame the DOD for going out of their way to take back help we need at this time.
We need to improve our healthcare for all .. not providing 7 billion more for a bloated military ... we need Medicare for All and so much more ..
Dear Congressman Mann:

I hope you have signed on to HR 2136 sponsored by Marjorie Taylor Greene to FIRE FAUCI!
We need better leaders who don't lie about climate change as directed by the kochbrothers who pay for their lies and campaign ... and who know their American history .. we are a secular government ....
Go Rand Paul !!!!!!!!!

Yet taxpaying small business owners can't get a full $10,000.00 grant "because they might not have the money, and therefore have to stretch it" - never mind the SBA is sitting on BILLIONS of undistributed funds. 😡😡😡

Federal government needs to do something about the OU Health/OU Health Partners, Inc. (OU Medicine) nonprofit situation going on in Oklahoma. There's a word for what's going on with all that!!

For starters one Regent (former Governor Keating) has A SON (Chip Keating) who is a key board member on the OU Health Board, WHILE Frank Keating is an acting Regent! What about the other Regent (Phil Albert) who has been accused of embezzlement in the millions from Pelco Structural, and YET he's STILL an acting Regent and has been during this whole time making policies for OU. Do you NOT see anything wrong with these?

What about the son Chip Keating who was put on acting Governor Stitt's Cabinet in the position of Public Safety member WHO WAS OVER the OSBI and State Attorney General's office WHILE FORMER GOVERNOR AND OU PRESIDENT DAVID BOREN was being INVESTIGATED for alleged crimes (having jurisdiction over them)?

What about OU Health expanding and being NONPROFIT, while they handle hundreds of millions of dollars and YET DON'T GET TAXED ON IT, AND additionally they have been excused from having to file the Form 990 end of the year accounting form for the public to see what they did for "charity" in lieu of taxes!! Might as well call it "free money" and HOW IS IT ACCOUNTED FOR TO THE PUBLIC?? (I'm not seeing it!). If they were paying taxes, with the hundreds of millions that they handle every year, that would be monies for infrastructure for Oklahoma, rural hospitals in Oklahoma, additional police, fire, and public services for Oklahoma. But NO, it all goes into the blackhole that is OU Health -- NONPROFIT - yet their own Open Records REFUSE TO PRODUCE THE PUBLICALLY VIEWABLE FORMS like the 1023 or the Bylaws or IRS Letter of Determination. This appears to be FEDERAL CRIME. You and the other representatives in Washington need to do something about it!
Vote NO on raising the debt ceiling!! Reign in the spending!
Rep. Mann,

I have been working with Angel Cushing to shut down the land grab going on with a 49 county National Heritage Area since the end of February. We talked to you about it at the Kansas Republican Convention in Manhattan. I supported you through your last election by putting out signs and telling friends to vote for you. I helped campaign for Lisa Moser and in doing that was also telling people to support you at the same time. I handed out your literature and left some on doors. I would like to know where you are standing on shutting down this NHA. Angel and I are tired but we are not going to quit until this absolute threat to farmers and ranchers is gone. We currently have 31 of the 49 counties in Kansas and Nebraska that have passed resolutions opting out of this program that the National Park Service is trying to force down their throats and that they would not have been aware of if not for Angel and myself. The NHA feasibility requires the program have grassroots support for implementation and it clearly does not have that yet Kim Wilson at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln says she is going to replace the 5 board members who have quit and start again in the fall to try to force this through. It is time that our Kansas Senators and Representatives take a stand for our farmers and ranchers. We need a statement from you denouncing this program for all 26 counties in Kansas. Gov. Pete Ricketts has done more for Kansas farmers and ranchers than our elected officials and I am very disappointed in that. Thank you for everything else you are doing for Kansas.
