Rep. Mann Slams Biden-Harris Effort to Eliminate Stepped-Up Basis
For four years, I have fought against the Biden-Harris Administration’s suggested elimination of stepped-up basis and inclusion of the farm killer tax in its annual budget proposal.
It’s remarkable how out of touch the Administration is when it says it’s for small businesses, yet year after year proposes doing away with the number one estate tax provision that helps them. It makes no sense.

We must be firm with Communist China-- America is not up for grabs.
We can't let China take our land or take our place in the market place. American tax credits must be used to benefit American producers. That should be a no brainer.
Yesterday, I completed my 246th town hall since I was elected to Congress. Thank you to every Kansan who attended one of my listening sessions to give me my marching orders to serve you in Congress. I hear your frustration with our wide-open borders, skyrocketing $35 trillion national debt, and burdensome regulations that stifle America. I will not stop fighting for our Kansas values that make us the pilot light of America. I will never give up on you or believing that our brightest days are yet to come.
When President Biden and Vice President Harris were sworn in, they promised outright citizenship to more than 11 million illegal immigrants. We must change our tone and send a clear message: do NOT come to the U.S. illegally.
America is a nation of legal immigrants, and their false promise was a slap in the face to the 2 million people who legally migrate to the U.S. each year the right way.
America cannot handle another four years of the Biden-Harris Administration’s border policies. If Washington Democrats were serious about securing our border, they would vote on H.R. 2 and end the crisis.
House Republicans have done our part. It's their move.
Agri-Pulse Interview
Our producers deserve certainty as the current Farm Bill expires September 30. I supported the House Agriculture Committee’s bipartisan, fiscally conservative Farm Bill that not only serves producers but stewards tax dollars well.
I urge Congress to quickly pass the Farm Bill so we can give our farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers the certainty they deserve.
The Biden-Harris Admin recognizes they created a political problem with their wide-open border. Now, they are pretending to do something about it with their executive orders. Make no mistake - the Biden-Harris Administration caused America’s border crisis.
America’s farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers are counting on us to pass a Farm Bill now. The House Agriculture Committee passed our Farm Bill more than two months ago, and Senate Democrats have failed to move. Kansas agricultural producers deserve a fiscally conservative Farm Bill that provides certainty while they work to feed, fuel, and clothe the world.
I am looking forward to watching the Wild Bill Hickok Rodeo with my family tonight at the Central Kansas Free Fair.
Fairs are a great way to support local 4-H clubs and FFA chapters, and our local communities. Our family is grateful to be in Abeline tonight, and we look forward to seeing everyone’s hard work.
The current condition of the farm economy is concerning and worsening.
Agricultural producers in the Big First have made it crystal clear—they need a fiscally conservative Farm Bill that gives them certainty as they feed, fuel, and clothe the world, and they need it now.
Farm Bill with Nick Gosnell
Congress must pass a five-year Farm Bill to provide certainty to Kansas producers. I proudly supported the House Agriculture Committee’s fiscally conservative Farm Bill that stewards taxpayer dollars well and puts those dollars in places we see high return on investment.
This week, I spoke on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives about the stark differences I see in the plans that Democrats and Republicans have for America’s future.
Republicans are actively working to make America wealthy again, safe again, strong again, and to make America great once again. Meanwhile, President Biden has abandoned the presidential race and propped up Vice President Harris, the Chief Executive Officer of his border crisis and mastermind behind his pro-abortion policies, as the Democrat nominee.
The contrast could not be clearer. The Republican party is the only party that is prepared to get America back on track.
The Biden-Harris Administration’s Bureau of Indian Affairs has failed the students at Haskell Indian Nations University. Pursuant to 1884 federal legislation, BIA is obligated to fulfill the U.S.’ treaty and trust responsibilities to Haskell. Yesterday’s hearing provided critical evidence of mismanagement, misconduct, and neglect.
These problems have gone on for far too long. Haskell deserves better from this Administration.

I look forward to hearing from Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel during a joint session of Congress today. It is shameful that Vice President Harris is choosing not to attend. I am proud to be here standing with and supporting our greatest ally in the Middle East.

Crop insurance is the most cost-effective way to deliver a safe, robust food supply. During our House Agriculture Committee hearing this week, the agricultural community was clear—a strong crop insurance program provides more certainty than ad hoc disaster assistance.
Mother Nature is not a reliable business partner, and crop insurance gives our farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers the certainty they deserve as they feed, fuel and clothe the world.
Rep. Mann Discusses National Debt with KQAM
The White House needs to wake up and rein in its out-of-control spending. I joined KQAM in Wichita to discuss America’s skyrocketing national debt and the need for us to get our fiscal house in order.
It needs to become law as soon as possible
I am proud to represent the Big First District in Congress.
I worked to pass a Farm Bill out of the House Agriculture Committee. It works for farmers, ranchers, agricultural producers, and consumers. It needs to become law as soon as possible.
Southern Border Crisis
Since President Biden was sworn in, his open border policies have created a national security and humanitarian crisis. House Republicans continue to urge the White House and our Democrat colleagues to work with us to identify a solution, and we are met with silence.
We must stop pretending that this crisis doesn’t exist.

I’ve had a great start to our town halls this morning and appreciate hearing from Kansans on the issues that matter to them.
I hear you loud and clear— we need to get our country back on track. President Trump has chosen a vice president that will do just that. JD Vance will fight for Main Street and our American values. Congratulations, Senator & congratulations President Trump on an incredible pick. I’m looking forward to November!
