This Sunday, June 15 at 2 PM, The Choral Arts Society of Washington presents a powerful celebration of their 60th anniversary — The Choral Legacy: 60 Years of Creating Stories Through Voice.

The Embassy of Estonia is proud to be a cultural partner for Choral Arts during their 2024/2025 season. We’re especially excited to share this upcoming concert — alongside masterworks by Handel, Mozart, and Brahms, the chorus will also perform the beloved Estonian song “Ta lendab mesipuu poole”.

It’s a piece that holds a special place in every Estonian´s heart, and this summer, this hymn will be sung by tens of thousands of voices at Estonia’s iconic Song Celebration in Tallinn.

A heartfelt thank you to conductor and artistic director Maire Bucoy-Calavan for her tireless work and deep devotion to American choral music — and for including this meaningful Estonian piece in the program.

We hope to see you this Sunday in The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. to share this beautiful moment of musical connection between Estonia 🇪🇪 and the U.S. 🇺🇸

This week, the Embassy was proud to welcome the two winning U.S. high school teams of the EuroChallenge Competition 2025 (more info: www.euro-challenge.org) organized by European Union Delegation to the United States

The Saint Peter's Prep from the Jersey City, the overall winner, excelled in putting Estonia on the map as a country fostering growth, competitiveness, and innovation.

The runner up was Greenwich High School from Connecticut, their great team showcased Germany's economy as the European powerhouse.

We were impressed by the students´ understanding of the EU, the Eurozone, and Estonia’s economy. We hope that these talented students will soon have the opportunity visit Estonia🇪🇪!

Congratulations to both teams on their remarkable achievements—it was great to see that the students clearly grasped the EU’s main objective: to strengthen economic cooperation and promote prosperity in Europe🇪🇺 and beyond.

We look forward to seeing where their knowledge and enthusiasm take them next!

📚🇪🇪🇺🇸 Big congratulations today to 100 years anniversary of —a century of celebrating language, learning & young brilliance!

Estonians🇪🇪 show their love to Estonian language with the annual E-etteütlus, a national online dictation. Quiet. Precise. Very Estonian.

Even more special today was to learn today that Mr. Robert Paine Scripps of the Scripps family that has played a historic role in American media and education advocacy, was born in 1918 in the very building that now houses the Embassy of Estonia in DC—and we were honored to welcome the Scripps family to visit his birthplace. Thank you for your visit 🇪🇪💙🇺🇸

Good luck to all the finalists —keep spelling strong! 🐝

„Praegu lisame igale dollarile, mille USA on Eesti julgeolekusse investeerinud, omalt poolt enda kaitse-eelarvesse 12 dollarit,“ märkis Tsahkna.

Eesti ja USA tugev liitlassuhe ulatub kaitsevaldkonnast palju sügavamale, muuhulgas on USA olnud oluliseks toetajaks Eesti, Läti ja Leedu Vene elektrivõrgust desünkroniseerimise protsessis. „Eesti on astunud alates Venemaa täiemahulise sõja algusest otsustavaid samme selle nimel, et vähendada sõltuvust Venemaast. Lisaks Vene elektrivõrgust lahtiühendamisele on Eesti täielikult loobunud Venemaa majanduse tugisambaks olevate energiakandjate impordist,“ ütles Tsahkna.

Kohtumisel kõneldi põhjalikult Venemaa agressioonist Ukraina vastu, seejuures tõstis Tsahkna esile Ameerika Ühendriikide pingutusi rahu saavutamise püüdlustes. „Paari nädala eest Jeddah’s tehtud ettepanek 30-päevase vaherahu kehtestamiseks näitab selgelt, et nii USA kui Ukraina on pühendunud rahu saavutamisele,“ ütles Tsahkna. „Küll aga pole Venemaa näidanud valmisolekut rahuks, sest jätkab endiselt jõhkraid rünnakuid Ukraina vastu.“

Välisministri sõnul on oluline jätkata ühelt poolt Ukraina sõjalist toetamist, teisalt majandusliku surve avaldamist Venemaale.
