🚨 MISSOURI FAMILIES PAY ATTENTION 🚨
They’re calling it “tax reform”… but let’s call it what it is.
HJR 173 just moved through the Missouri Legislature, and it’s a MAJOR shift in how each and every one of you get taxed.
Here’s the deal in plain language:
They want to eliminate the state income tax… sounds good, right?
But here’s what they’re not leading with 👇
➡️ They replace it by EXPANDING SALES TAXES
➡️ That means taxing more of the things you use every day services, subscriptions, repairs, and more
➡️ This shifts the burden onto working families while the wealthiest feel it the least
Let me say that again:
This isn’t a tax cut.
It’s a TAX SHIFT.
And when you tax consumption instead of income, the folks living paycheck to paycheck end up paying a bigger share of what they earn just to get by.
Meanwhile, local governments could be forced to adjust taxes just to keep up by putting pressure on our communities and resources.
They’ll tell you it makes Missouri “competitive.”
But competitive for who?
Because working people aren’t asking for more taxes at the register, we asking for relief, fairness, and a system that works for all of us.
This isn’t about left vs right.
This is about who carries the load.
🗳️ If this makes the ballot in 2026, the decision will be in OUR hands.
So let’s stay informed.
Let’s stay engaged.
And most importantly… let’s stand together.
Because that’s how we put the SOLID back in SOLIDARITY ✊🏾
