The Replace Songer campaign would like to thank all of our contributors and supporters and we would especially like to thank Garique Clifford for putting himself out there and giving us such a qualified candidate to be able to rally behind and vote for.
This election was about more than win or lose. This election was about speaking truth to power, overcoming fear to publicly express opposition and community collaboration. We have had so many people reach out to us with support, ideas, comments and thanks. It really has been a journey and we have our community to thank for making it happen.
Our work is not done. Change does not happen overnight. The voters showed that half of them do not want a constitutional sheriff! Songer did not win with overwhelming support. He barely made it through and he needs to be reminded of that. We must continue to push back on the CSPOA directives that our sheriff will continue to blindly follow.
There are many pressing issues that need to be addressed in this county including childcare, transportation, affordable housing, etc. and as long as we remain quiet Songer and friends will take all the oxygen in the room with nonsensical conspiracies. We must speak out, address real issues and continue to strive to make Klickitat County a liveable and safe place for all.
