Student Ambassador Voices: Emma Zubak

Student Ambassador Emma Zubak, a student at the Chicago Public Schools shares about her experience studying in China through the Wanxiang Group. Emma says,
"I learned a lot about myself while in China. Being away from my family for a month, I learned that I am capable of taking care of myself in a foreign country. I also learned important lessons about advancing my knowledge in the Chinese language. I admit that I am sometimes a perfectionist, which means that I can be afraid of making mistakes. However, being in China and getting the chance to speak with locals taught me that making mistakes helps you learn." #USChinaStrong

How Learning to Speak Chinese Changed Me

Student Ambassador Jenna Nelson, who studied abroad through the University of Iowa in Tianjin, shares about the impact learning to speak Chinese had upon her experience living in China. She writes, "Reflecting on my time in China, the culture I experienced, and friends I made, none of it would have been possible without me first having the ability to communicate in the language. Without being able to speak even a minimal amount of Chinese, my China story would read a lot differently."
