Need community service hours? or just interested in being a good, peace-loving human being?

All Field students grades 8-12 are invited to the Sandy Spring Friends School Youth Peace Conference!! Their student government, called TORCH, is cooperating with the Muslim Community Center that's nearby to promote ideals of peaceful conflict resolution and non-violent protest and activism.

Field's SGA will be well-represented there, so come join us :)

As far as I know, there will be workshops, discussion groups, and TED-talk-like speakers.

Anyone who attends can get community service hours for it! Also, FREE SNACKS!!

Register here ASAP: https://www.ssfs.org/calendars/events.aspx?action=ShowEventRegistrationForm&EventId=dbd5e348-a193-48de-add6-ffa7101ad1c7&CurrentModuleId=75&CurrentParentModuleId=74, or send us a message and we can sign you up.

If you feel that 16- and 17-year-olds should be allowed to vote in local DC elections, please sign this petition!

The newly formed Youth for National Change chapter in DC wants to get 1000 signatures by December 1st and has meetings lined up with DC legislators in early December to discuss the issue.

Support lowering the voting age to extend suffrage to a greater population of youth and empower them to make a positive impact on local, state, and national political and legislative issues. Let's take a lesson from what has already happened in Takoma Park, and Hyattsville. Let's increase voter turn…

Our service trip for tomorrow is full... but we have open spots in our December 5th and December 14th trips.

At A Wider Circle, we'll be working in the Neighbor-to-Neighbor program, sorting donations, restocking showrooms, and assisting clients. (Donations tend to be household furniture, linens, kitchen items, and toys.)

At the Campagna Center, we'll be helping to distribute donated toys.

Email [email protected] or [email protected] to sign up :)
