of all useful occupations, and the dignifying by each Rotarian of his occupation as an opportunity to serve society
3. The application of the ideal of service by every Rotarian to his personal, business and community life.
4. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peach through a world fellowship of business and professional men noted in the ideal of service. The Four-Way test of the things we think, say or do….
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

🔥 Learning More About the Future of Fire Protection in Daviess County! 🔥

At today’s Washington Rotary Club meeting, Rotarian and Club President Don Spillman arranged an informative program on the reorganization of Daviess County into fire districts. Our guest speaker was Daviess County Commissioner Nathan Gabhart.

Nathan shared valuable information about the need to provide reliable, sustainable support for our volunteer fire departments, who work around the clock, 24/7, to protect our families, businesses, homes, and communities. He explained the lengthy process involved in developing the new fire district structure, the work that has gone into the reorganization, and the potential impact on future real estate taxes.

Thank you, Nathan, for taking the time to speak with our Club and for your continued dedication and hard work on behalf of Daviess County!

We also want to extend our sincere appreciation to all of the volunteer firefighters and fire departments serving Daviess County. Your commitment, sacrifice, and willingness to answer the call at any hour help keep our communities safe. We are grateful for all that you do! ❤️🚒

And, as always, a big thank you to Bobe’s for the great lunch and for welcoming the Washington Rotary Club each week!

Today’s Rotary Club meeting presentation allowed us to learn more about an important resource serving children and families in our region.

Vincennes Rotarian and Past Rotary District Governor Shannon O’Toole arranged for Jacqueline Cunningham and Megan Wedding, representatives of Isaiah 117 House, to visit our Club and share information about the organization’s work.

The Isaiah 117 House in Vincennes serves children from Knox and surrounding counties (including Daviess) who are waiting to be placed in a foster home. The Isaiah 117 House provides a safe, welcoming place where children can stay while they wait for placement, helping make what can be a difficult and uncertain time a little easier.

We appreciate Jacqueline and Megan taking the time to share more about this meaningful organization and the difference it is making for children in our communities. ❤️

Thanks once again to Bobe's for hosting us and for the delicious lunch!

At today’s Washington Rotary Club meeting, Rotarian Jaime Herr welcomed Alan Bubalo to share an exciting update on the proposed new Daviess County Family YMCA building.

The architect-designed $32 million, 85,000-square-foot building would bring a brand-new YMCA facility to Washington and be located on the northwest corner of what has historically been Allen Field in Washington.

The new facility is designed to offer something for all ages, including two basketball courts that also accommodate volleyball and pickleball, a rock-climbing wall, a lap pool, a children’s pool, a splash pad, a community room… and much more!

The campaign has already received almost $20 million in pledges over five years from city and county government tax dollars, private individuals, and businesses.

Thank you to Alan for joining us and helping our Club learn more about this exciting, significant investment in the future of our community! We appreciate Jaime for arranging the program and allowing us to hear more about the vision for the new YMCA. Thanks also to Bobe's for the great lunch and for hosting our Club meetings each week!

It was a great day for Washington Rotary! 🌟

We enjoyed a wonderful Club meeting today as Rotary District 6580 Governor Matt Millies of the New Albany Rotary Club visited Washington and shared an informative presentation with our members.

We were also pleased to welcome Jim McFaul of the Jasper Rotary Club and Assistant District Governor, along with Shanon O’Toole of the Vincennes Rotary Club and former District Governor. Their support and participation made the meeting even more special.

We had a fantastic turnout and learned about the many resources, opportunities, and “perks” available through our Rotary District to help strengthen our Club and expand the work we do in our community.

A big thank you to Matt for his time, insight, and encouragement—and to Jim and Shanon for joining us and supporting Washington Rotary.

We’re grateful for the fellowship, ideas, and connections that make Rotary so special. Thanks for visiting us! 💙💛

Today's Washington Rotary meeting was a wonderful reminder of what makes our Club so special.

With a last-minute change in the program, President-Elect Marilyn McCullough stepped in and graciously organized an informative and engaging meeting. Thanks to the willingness of our fellow Rotarians to share their expertise, we enjoyed timely updates on Daviess Community Hospital, the YMCA, and Our Community Foundation.

One of Rotary's greatest strengths is the dedication of members who are always ready to serve, share, and support one another. Today's meeting was a perfect example of that spirit in action.

Thank you, Marilyn, for your thoughtful leadership, to everyone who helped make today's meeting a success, and to Bobe's for another delicious lunch and for their warm hospitality each week.
