FAMM Fighting for sentencing reform since 1991, uniting people of all backgrounds around the need for fair, just sentences and prison experiences. famm.org
FAMM works to change mandatory sentencing laws through the legislative process on the federal and state levels, participating in precedent-setting legal cases and through public education. Federal advocacy campaign FAMM challenges federal mandatory minimums by educating Congress and the U.S. Sentencing Commission about the need to replace unjust laws with fair and proportionate sentencing policy. FAMM works with thousands of prisoners and families across the country whose lives are adversely affected by mandatory minimums and provides a platform for our members to speak out against federal sentencing laws. Our litigation project provides litigation assistance and pro bono counsel for sentencing issues considered by the U.S. Supreme Court and lower federal courts. State advocacy campaign FAMM promotes the reform of state sentencing laws in a number of states throughout the country, including on-the-ground campaigns in Massachusetts and Florida. We depend heavily on our membership to advocate for sentencing reform in every state. Communications FAMM works with the media to publicize the injustices of federal and state mandatory sentencing laws and to shine a light on the human face of sentencing injustice. Members and the public are kept up-to-date with the latest sentencing news through FAMM's website, e-Alerts and social media. .

A disabled black veteran drove through Alabama with medical marijuana. Now he faces five years in prison.

A disabled black veteran drove through Alabama with medical marijuana. Now he faces five years in prison. • The first mistake that left Sean Worsley facing a five-year prison sentence was choosing to stop for gas in tiny Gordo, Ala. The next was blasting music at the pump loudly enough to catch the attention of a local police officer. (via Washington Post)

The marijuana in his back seat had been legally prescribed to him in Arizona. But in Alabama, it sparked a years-long legal fight that plunged him into homelessness, cost him thousands of dollars, and recently concluded in a 60-month prison sentence.

Just got an email saying that 2 inmates and a co have it in Loretto low. Smh. Just took the phone from them. How do we get them out of there?!
Hello. I'm happy to hear about this group for help . My fiance is incarcerated in Seagoville Prison in Texas .He has sent a compassionate release form to the judge and he put in for home confinement as well. The COVID-19 has blown up there with 11000 inmates testing positive including him with the virus. When it first started off they put negative inmates with positive inmates and keep switching it around mixing them all negative and positives together. The virus is spreading more by the day. They integrated negative people with positive people instead of in segregating them and thats why the numbers getting so high. They're not following CDC GUIDELINES at all .On the units they have 10x15 cell with 5 to 6 inmates which is impossible for them to keep social distance. No masks as CDC subscribed, they're not sanitizing the toilets, sinks, phones,or computers were the inmates or touching. They are getting under fed and low commissary. The medical doesn't work at night leaving inmates helpless. I'm starting every where I can for help to get him home quickly. I need support n help to put this out so my loved one can come home safe. Thank u for your support n building this group.

My son was moved to the Three Rivers Camp on July 1st and we have yet to hear from him. Has anyone heard from their LO at that facility? Thank you.
Vance Haskell did 20 and still has a positive attitude read his case and good person ...... change needs to happen ASAP
I know I haven’t been here since the compassionate release of my husband. I can say that I am extremely happy that he is now home and we are onto our next chapter. I also must add that this has not been easy for him, you know 17.5 years away from his children and family has not been an easy adjustment. I think he was thinking that he was going to touch ground running and 4 days into his release he realized he had to take baby steps. The most stressful experience that I have experienced is that so many people said and wrote to him when you come home he can easily get a job at their place of business. Although I knew it wasn’t true, he convinced me it was. Today I found myself creating him a resume, submitting into all type of sites and praying that he gets called to do anything. Yea, whoever told me that it would be easier when he got home “lied”. I’ll share this photo with you. All I can here him say was wow I haven’t been here in more then 17.5 years. #keepthefaoth#yourturniscoming#
